Transfer Portal 21-22

I laugh when I hear people say they have inside info. If you're not part of her family then you honestly don't know and only going by he said she said stuff. Almost seems like you want to be the person that says see I told you first. I'm not believing anyone on here until RJ posts and states where she is going. Now she might not come and that's fine. I only want a player who truly wants to play here. She is asking the decision she thinks is best for her, although it might not be. She has to live with that. Not us. I will be pretty bummed if she goes somewhere else but it won't be the end of the world. I just know with who we have now and who is coming along plus if we would have had RJ then we would pushing for a National Championship hands down. I think regardless if she doesn't come we will be a solid Final Four team. Only time will tell

Yea, let's keep it cordial because you know me as well as you have liked my posts. I don't "flaunt" that I know anything and i actually appreciated the fact there are differing view points. So let's get that off the board if that's where this was going. As anybody knows i love a conversation and stay respectful but when the poster came to your defense i def said to play devils advocate i could see why someone may have thought that what you said might not be true. I also said you could have insider info i don't know.

But to be clear while i do pay for an inside scoop i do have other places where i get info and people i'm connected with. So again i don't flaunt or tease anything i speak what i am allowed to speak and keep it there.

So, again let's keep it cordial and in a positive direction because i've been respectful. If you choose not to do so let me know and we will take that route if need be as well. i hope this ends positively because you've been cool with me and are still but i'm the one to hit something head on and address what needs to be addressed and move on. Also, if the "love" thing was a moment trying to check me i found it endearing and brought me fond memories.

Truly hope you are having a good day 🌞
I think both of you are great posters. I just believe the desire to get this player was high and to have the air taken out the balloon with no explanation might not have been the best route. We all want the Lady Vols to return to glory with championships.

thank you for the kind words

Thought we had Powell for 2 years, looks like only one.

Tennessee Women's Basketball Recruiting - WBB Blog

Even though Kellie may prefer a 12-13 roster number, after all the injuries we had this year she may decide more is better. So far, we have 13 for next year, plus one walk on, with room for two more.

A close inspection of the page shows that, below the roster lists, Raoul states, "Until there is definitive word that a player will be taking advantage of this extra year[referring to the covid year], the WBB Blog scholarship charts will not reflect this extra eligibility."

I would read from this simply that no public statement has been made as to whether Ms Powell will be here for one or two years, not that she is definitely leaving after next season.

Jim

Exactly, thats never been my style. From what I was told, she’s not coming. Instead of acting like I’m an insider and beating around the bush, I came on here and said what I said! I really don’t care how people take it.
You aren’t credible. No decision has been made. According to a highly reliable source, Rickea will decide mid-March.

Yea let’s not go there because I’m the one that would go back and forth with you for days and I’d rather keep it civil. You went back to one post, As Amb pointed out, that you so conveniently overlooked, I’ve spilled beans before and haven’t beaten around the bush because I’m paying money for an “inside scoop” from a website. Nor do I “flaunt” that I’m an “insider” so let’s not really go there love. I enjoy your post and would rather we keep it cordial.
The Ballout is not always reliable.

True, the interesting thing is that there is that cross in front of Rae’s name, even though we know she is not coming back for another year. I was surprised this list was as up to date as it is.

Did not know Raoul was the author of this blog.

Powell will have two years of eligibility if she chooses to use them. She will have her senior season and also her covid year. He did not have Walker listed as having any eligibility after this season and she had the covid year which she is using. There are several other players that he has taken off rosters which are eligible to come back if they desire. Any player that was affected by the cancellation of games and the tournament and was playing at the time has an extra year of eligibility. Rae had one she didn't want it. Dye used her fifth year this season. Jordan and Tamari have two more seasons doubt either will use it.

She said she is using both and plans to work on her masters to set her up once her playing days are over.

The inaccuracy in your post speaks volumes. Where is Holly's recruiter right now? Kellie has also shown she can bring in talent but also develop talent that she didn't initially bring in. When she first got the job, you brought on a coach she was familiar with and a coach who had a decent track record at previous stops in recruiting. When that staff didn't work one took a head coaching job (which Kellie encourage her to, is that the friend you're talking about) and the other she fired. She then brought on 1 of the best recruiters in the game and the other has been known to develop Post players and be a solid recruiter within her own right. It isn't in Kellie's style to run off players like a lot of other programs do and I don't blame her. I am sure she may have encourage some players to look elsewhere and they want to be a Lady Vol and finish it out, for that I don't blame her, nor them if they are okay with not playing.

It's funny how some of you look at what other teams are doing and compare talent and totally neglect the obvious. Kellie's freshman class looked a lot better (imo) than the number 1 recruiting class. She also found a way to get a Top 15 prospect in 2022 and one of the top PG transfers in the portal so far. If she was to dump those 3-4 players many of you are concerned with and the chemistry issues return then many of you would be bitching about that. Rebuilding what was destroyed wasn't going to happen overnight but she is doing a damn good job!

I am glad we can have different points of views or opinions without attacking people. It's refreshing. However, playing devils advocate some people may or may not believe the poster because they have posted their personal beliefs/ feelings when it's come to recruits. I don't know if she is coming or if the person has any inside info. But people may be hesitant to "move on" when the poster has put up stuff like...

There is no way I’ll come to Tennessee to play if I was Rickea or an elite recruit.

I'd @ them but they already said they aren't commenting further and i'm good with that. Again, this isn't a personal attack just posting why people might not jump up and move on. I'm good either way and glad there is some excitement generated again for this program.
I’m rocking with @VA_VOLFAN all day!

Ok a lot of conversation about Rickea and NIL deals don't think that will go down to well with our coaches if in fact there is any truth to her wanting NIL commitments to go to any particular school. Doubt we'd be a party to that in anyway if any truth to that conversation at all.

To add I think we are going to see a lot of the bigtime players that get in the portal use the NIL approach to getting their commitment. I knew the NIL was going to bring this on in football didn't really see it getting into women's basketball, but looks like it might be coming that players want deals to join a team.

And if that is in fact the case, I'd be happy Kellie doesn't play that game. People spending their money feel they have a say in what folk can and can't do and I never want it to be a situation that the company who is responsible for offering the NIL deal, controlling what the player can and can't do and how the coach can and can't play players.

Absolutely, but I hate that it is going to affect sports so much. I knew that was already going down in football guess it was only a matter of time before it dwindled on down to every sport where players can manage to use it as leverage. We know there are some schools and coaches that are willing to work this with players.

As much as I hate to say it, if Jackson is looking for the best NIL deal to make her decision, TN is not the place for her then.

yes it is but the crazy thing is the school is supposed to have no parts in help facilitating these deals but we all know that isn't the case at some universities. I'd love to see some one 5 years from now conduct a study on the effects of the NIL on team chemistry. I think in football there is a lot more money and companies willing to invest in players than there is WBB and other sports (especially as it pertains to women's sports unfortunately).
