Transfer Portal 21-22

Not sure why players' parents insist on speaking for their kids. Rickea is a grown woman.
Hmmmm. Don’t know I would count 21 as a “grown woman”. College age still needs that parental support at times. There’s making decisions and taking responsibility for your decisions and still having parents have your back.
I vote good tweet.

But when did she actually follow her?
as an aau player...who knows

People could look at my account and say I folllow "____"
But it may be that I never did clean that name out
If you have a ton of followers/follows,,,little chance of being able to do that
I think it was at least when she was a high school player and she was recruiting her to Louisville.

That's totally different, a parent calling asking why their child didn't get an interview/job isn't the same as a parent relaying how their child feels and asking the public to give her time and space while she makes her next move. If you feel they are the same, I don't know what to tell you.

If you can't see how it's the same issue...adults wanting their parents to speak on their behalf (or worse, the parents doing it anyway) for something that they should be able to address...then I don't know what to tell you.

It certainly matters and I understand why you don’t get it.

Honestly, most people don't care if you're a parent or not. But you're naive if you think that Rickea won't get even more slack from her detractors because her mom had to come to the rescue. I suppose I understand why you don't get that as well, so I guess we're even.

You being on campus to interview accounting students is totally different. I understand how ridiculous it is for parents to insert themselves in their kid’s interview process. After all you are interviewing them to see if they have the knowledge, maturity and appropriate judgement to make a good staff auditor or tax professional.
This is different for the following reasons-
1) Rikea is half way through her Junior year. Probably 20 or 21. You are interviewing folks finishing their Masters of Accountancy.
2) Rikea made her transfer announcement on twitter(as is the norm for better or worse). Consequently, all those Hail State fans have a free shot questioning her grit, intelligence, loyalty etc.
All of this abuse by strangers could obviously be upsetting to her. A parent coming to the defense of their 20-21 year old against attacks by anonymous adults is far different than a parent calling you because you didn’t offer their lazy darling a job.
BTW, the answer is “No, I can’t guarantee you can leave everyday at 4:30 so you can make it to your gym by 5:00”. My jaw hit the desk on that one. The entitlement is gobsmacking.

Rickea just started following Coach Yo on Instagram.

If she lands there and Austin stays another year, Ole Miss could really get something started.

Just an FYI, I’m a college professor in addition to being an attorney…I understand parents overstepping. Trust me. I do get it. You’re comparing apples to oranges.

I don't see any reason Austin would stay another year. She is most likely a lottery pick this year.
Waiting another year would put her at least in the middle of the first round or lower. The next draft after this one is loaded with star players don't think you would want to wait unless your making more money in college.

If the goal is solely to get drafted, you're right. She should jump ship this year regardless of who is on the roster.

If she wants to continue to improve (and I know some would say she won't under Coach Yo), she should stay another year to develop.

And you really don't make money if you're drafted and cut. Just saying.

Damn that would be the ultimate slap in the face for Mississippi State fans. I couldn't fathom her going to a rival school. That's cold-blooded if she does

Probably won't look our way but sure could use a player her size next season.

Could help us for certain. Very mobile post.

Shocked someone re-hired Gottlieb to the college ranks. I truly thought she skated by at Cal after having a good season or two with Boyle’s players.

By the time she left they were headed for the toilet in the PAC-12. Never developed players beyond how they came to her. IMO she’s all talk (and a lot of it) and no action. Don’t think she’ll last at USC either.

Raychael Harjo
Rachel Loobie
Maryanna Turkstras
UChenna Nwoke (Duke, 6’5)
Rickea Jackson
Liz Martino
Angel Jackson (USC, 6’5)

Anyone heard these transfer portal names linked with Lady Vols 2022-2023?
Of those, unless you are a Jackson, keep looking.
