If Tamari is starting at center, and we already have Striplin and Hollingshead who also could fill that role, not sure Betts would want to compete for minutes at TN. She may be leaving Stanford for that very reason and wanting to find a team she will immediately see playing time. She may even go somewhere closer to her home in CO.

I agree. Colorado has been playing well and has a super nice coach. JR is a great person. Was really glad to see her team advance a little this season.

Still think Iowa will be a big contender for Betts. They are the most obvious team in need of a center.

A starting 5 of Clark, Marshall (if she uses COVID year), Martin, Stuelke and Betts would be incredible.

Clark delivers to the post like no one else. To have a talented 6’7” target like Betts makes her job even easier.

Their best men’s player is in the portal too, so you may be on to something. Then again, that team only won 4 games so maybe he’s just sick of losing

Perhaps IU? She would replace departing PG Berger, the only starter they lose. Would not surprise me. If she goes West Coast to get closer to home I’m not sure what team it would be, certainly UCLA has their starting PG already, and Oregon is in shambles. Her home state teams Wash and WAZU are not title contenders….I seriously doubt she goes to the Angel Reese show.

If HVL already knew where she was going before she entered the portal, it means tampering happened. Otherwise how would she know she even had an offer? Walz should report her new school to the NCAA.

It is possible the athlete made first contact to gauge interest……It’s not against the rules to answer the phone.

From what I understand, Iowa is out of scholarships to give for 2023-24. Though that could change if they have anyone transfer out.

Lauren's sister Sienna is the #5 player in the 2025 class per Hoopgurlz. She's being recruited by Notre Dame, Colorado, Arizona, Florida State, Florida, North Carolina, Kentucky, and Michigan (per wbbblog.com, there may be other schools, too). I guess Lauren and Sienna would only overlap by one year, though, unless Sienna was an early entry. I'm seeing a lot of speculation about UCLA online, but Notre Dame would make some sense, too (especially academically). Both have openings at her position and would be title contenders, especially ND.

It was some rumblings that Louisville was trying to get at wells before the portal but ppl were saying it was us I mean he got the transfer he wanted I don’t think he’ll report anything
