'24 Transfer Portal

Heard and Pounds both visiting Ole Miss this weekend per their on3…

Really really need another legit tackle for next year
full

Need to convince them to visit Rocky Top and hear our offer before they decide to commit to d-bag Lane.

Ppl getting way to caught up on certain transfers is getting old on here, we get it you like the players but there will be 15 more from that same position that come out in a week and even more during spring practice.

The staff is going to get theirs like they do so every year, historically we take around 7-8 transfers a year and we only have 4 right now so just lay back and relax and let it happen and quit complaining over ever player you want who enters, remember it is a marathon not a sprint…
FOMO

You don't throw many ints when all your passes are bubble screens. His stats are very very misleading.
Most of our screens aren’t bubble screens, and screens are a meaningful part of most innovative offenses, including Ohio St., Washington, Oregon, Texas and Ole Miss. Milton’s INT/TD ratio is very good by any standard.

Problem is that guys we will be counting on next year need to be here for spring practice. Not saying a quick study can't pick things up with just a fall camp, but the OL needs cohesion. You want your OL getting as many reps together as possible. Now is the getting time not after spring ball for guys you want will be counting on next season at the jump.

Unless you get a bigger bang for the buck next cycle. They plug and play in the pros all the time. Let the competition overpay and deplete their bank accounts this pass and be prepared in May. It is however possible this position will not be at the top of the needs list when the 83 number comes more into focus. Bet Cooper could clear things up quick for some guys starting in June.

Reed-Adams and McMurray were both floating around 2* or low 3* recruits out of HS depending on recruiting service. Have they really developed to where they are legit SEC targets?

Probably. It happens all the time.

McMurray was rated at 80 by pff as a redshirt freshman in the American, which is very very good.

Reed-Adams started and had a great grade out of the Big 12. It'll translate.

No. UT is seeking to become the new MTSU program in the state. We are going to let MTSU take over the role of major program in the state. Old recruiting rankings > everything else!

Are they better than what we’ve had out there? That’s really my only question.

In evaluating OL in the portal, often an overlooked aspect of evaluating prospects is their physical conditioning and their hustle. To play OL at UT, you have to go much faster than in most other offenses. Our staff is looking for guys who will hustle and thrive in a fast paced offense. Not every prospect wants to play fast place or is able to play fast paced

Justin Jefferson was one of those pitiful 2 star low 3 star prospects. LSU would’ve been wiser to never give him a shot 😉

My perception is that the coaches value the good tacklers and have strived to find those in better athletes. It’s why they tried to roll with Doneiko Slaughter at corner even tho he was a step slow for that position. It’s the common denominator in the portal additions and was a weakness in the departees imo. Not a film guy, but I saw that in the highlights of the Temple kid. As for OG, a working body who doesn’t go backwards is the current bar.
