Pounds is coming in tonight. Was never supposed to come in todaySo let's say we get the Kansas OL. We're still in trouble on the OL unless someone already on the team ca step up and provide solid play. Word is Heard wants to be a LT and we already have a LT. And LA Vol said Pounds didn't make it in today. So if we can't land Heard or Pounds, we still have an open spot on the OL. Let's say the Kansas kid slots into RT, we still would need a quality OG to play opposite Spraggins. And even if we land another portal OL, I hope we see enough development in guys like Umarov and Lang to see them get some meaningful snaps.
Agree. Getting Reed-Adams and either Heard or Pounds gives Tennessee one of the better starting OLines in the SEC. Then you can count on guys like Umarov, Karic, Lang, Reddick, Grant, and Bennett as depth pieces…which is what they should be at this stage in their development.I feel like Pounds would be a huge get. He could come right in and start at RT. That's if he's willing to play RT. Heard would be a good get, too, but word is he wants to play LT. I'm guessing promises were made to Campbell to get him to come back, and playing LT was probably one of them. Get one of Pounds or Heard to play RT, then if we get Reed-Adams, he could start at LG opposite of Spraggins. If we only get Reed-Adams, he could slot at either RT or LG. But we'd still need another OL to really solidify the line and protect Nico.
Honestly, when I watched him, he looked a lot like the dudes that just left....finally. Didn't see an "upgrade" with him. I'd rather roll with our young recruits than the single digit from Temple. This is a good thing. We can do better than McMurray. Plenty of good corners have entered and more likely after spring. NC state corner would be huge.
