How do people feel about what this staff is doing in the transfer portal compared to the needs of the program and compared to other programs they need to compete with?
I have not followed in the last 7 to 10 days yet it appears we are still struggling to land a few important pieces. I don't want to claim my opinion as fact. I'd like some other reasonable thoughts.

Struggling in what way?
We are about to land the number 1 remaining OT in the portal. They have landed three starting caliber secondary pieces while adding a good secondary high school class. They are getting a young interior dline man on campus next weekend. Thornton isn’t leaving so they have added a very good young wr after only losing one from last years rotation. They have done a very good job in the portal. We've lost two veteran OT's, who do we have as leading replacements that have gotten snaps?
I'm not sold that we've done enough in the secondary after all the losses.
It would've been nice to add a young interior DL from the portal if one was available.
Last, our WR corp last year was less than dangerous especially after Bru went down. If Thornton doesn't return then getting another proven player to add to the Tulane player would go a long way.
This is just my opinion.
Not to mention there is a few more great CB's available now thanks to Saban that we might land one of!We are about to land the number 1 remaining OT in the portal. I agree, but us retaining the same guys from last years secondary wouldn’t have improved the secondary. They had to get younger and more athletic. They’ve done that, they’ve landed a starting caliber corner to put with Rickey Gibson. They’ve landed a safety they could put with turrentine, and McMurray is at least a depth piece. Imo this secondary has a higher ceiling than if we returned all the guys from last years team. Rather get beat with young guys than get beat with 5th and 6th year seniorsA couple of "ifs" in your post. I don't hold much stock in true freshmen that haven't played but if we get Bru and Thornton back healthy with the Tulane transfer we could be in decent shape at WR. DL is not a problem for next year. OL could be. The secondary has to get better. Period.

Thornton is already healthy. Only had a high ankle sprain. Bru's health will be a mental thing. Was already on a stairmaster by the end of November and said that he's at the stage where he has to get used to metal in his ankle. He'll be fine by 8/31.A couple of "ifs" in your post. OL already looks stronger. Campbell, Sprags, Coop back with Zalance? LG is a concern, but Lampley looked good, he'd be a 6th year senior. Then maybe Karic will step up. 4th year in college. Maybe the young guys, but four of the guys are definitely really strong. Could easily be top 3 in the league.
Secondary is a question mark but we do know we are more talented and athletic with plenty of experience with our transfer guys. Our front 7 will have a lot to do with the success of our secondary and it looks pretty damn strong right now.
JPjr will be an all American, Joseph's, Herring, Bradley and Ross off the edge. Crazy talent.
Omari Thomas, Norman Lott, Simmons, Bailey, West, Eason, Hobbs, Wallace, Jenkins, Weathersby, Robinson, Duncan etc. Tons of experience and ability there.
Pili with a bunch of young talented and experienced LB's.
It's lookin pretty good to me.
You seem really out of touch with everything that’s gone on this post/off season
