I’m actually surprised LSU didn’t get one of the top tier QBs from portal. Based on how they developed J.Daniels. I think they could have enticed one of the top portal QBs.

I know they have some talented guys on roster but unproven. Surprised they went after Vandys QB.

I know they have some talented guys on roster but unproven. Surprised they went after Vandys QB.

Probably seeing all the turmoil once guys see competition and tried to leave it alone. Look at UGA as an example and they too have shown good things.

Tate hasn't even entered the portal. I know there was a rumor, but I wouldn't even count him as a maybe until he's actually in the portal.

It would not surprise me if Diggs pulled the trigger on Syracuse and cancels his planned visit. Would love to have him, but Syracuse is making too much sense for him. It's closer to home, it has who I think is his brother committed, and his former DL coach at TAMU is now the Syracuse DC.

My guess, we keep on Brazzell, McCoy, and Farmer, and see if any new interesting names pop into the portal.

Early Signing Period starts tomorrow. Looks like we hope to finish with Sensabaugh and a TE commit. Get all of our guys signed, try to get the three guys above in the boat, then see where the numbers stand. Leave a scholarship or two available for the later signing period in February in case we can land McKinley, or another name pops up. Think it's possible we see some more of our players hit the portal in the Spring to make numbers work. Possible, but less likely IMO, we see some new portal targets in the Spring window. I just don't think the Spring window will have the same talent level.

Dante Moore made a lot of sense for LSU. Going to Oregon to potentially sit a year behind D. Gabriel at Oregon is crazy to me given the need for high-caliber QBs.

Perhaps LSU is a consideration for Malachi Nelson.

Uh, we are replacing it with much better. Incoming freshmen would have passed most of this year's secondary.

It's interesting that Athlon is reporting OM is joined by Bama, Georgia, and Texas in pursuing Tyler Baron. If true, he's more highly thought of than many of us give him credit for.

Or these teams have a real area of need. Neither Bama or UGA had as dominate a pass rush this season as they are accustomed to.

Moore was thrown into the fire a bit this year and regressed as he went on before getting benched.

I think he’s looking at a redshirt year under a staff that just made Bo Nix a heisman candidate as a “get right” year to sit and learn before taking over.

I don't think they were looking. Garrett Nussmeier is their guy going forward.

But it is pretty interesting that they didn't take a top QB recruit this year. If Nuss is any good then he will be a 1 and done guy, which means they will be in the market for another QB next off-season.

Brian Kelly also doesn’t have a great track record with QB development. Daniels is the outlier in an otherwise long list of mediocre QBs: Ian Book, Deshone Kizer, Malik Zaire, Everett Golson, Brandon Wimbush, Tommy Rees, Dayne Crist.

Have to imagine that plays into it a little
