He is a west coast kid. Maybe Washington and sit a year behind Will Rogers?
Maybe so. I thought about that, possibility, too, in light of Moore's decision to do the same. Almost identical situations. Nelson was at one time committed to Oklahoma (Lincoln Riley tie), so he was seemingly open to the idea of something other than the west coast at one point. LSU just seems like a good fit for one of those guys wanting to hit the reset button.

Moore was thrown into the fire a bit this year and regressed as he went on before getting benched.

I think he’s looking at a redshirt year under a staff that just made Bo Nix a heisman candidate as a “get right” year to sit and learn before taking over.
You may be right. Perhaps he realized he wasn't as ready as he may have believed and sees the benefit of learning. Forward thinking that is a little more rare in the world of high-profile college players.

Brian Kelly also doesn’t have a great track record with QB development. Daniels is the outlier in an otherwise long list of mediocre QBs: Ian Book, Deshone Kizer, Malik Zaire, Everett Golson, Brandon Wimbush, Tommy Rees, Dayne Crist.

Have to imagine that plays into it a little
Maybe QB coach Joe Sloan is the magic sauce? He's been there two years and that aligns with the success of Daniels.

Agreed, though some of those QBs were good college QBs. However, none of them turned into elite NFL QB prospects like Daniels did.

Real talk: Who are the offensive linemen prospects? Does anyone have realistic confidence in us landing an OL? If yes, do we think any are starter material or merely depth?

Farmer has not played at UF if I understand. Is he good?
Remington committed elsewhere
Tate is a longshot if not pipe dream.
Farmer is the only one I know about. I assume they like what they see in him, and I'm not sure they'd bring him in if they didn't think he could take some of those snaps at OG.

I think starting and not finding the success he expected to might have been humbling enough to give him a more longterm perspective on things.

As far as Daniels, I think a lot of factors have gone into his improvement. Sloan, better supporting cast, gifted athlete with a good work ethic all play a big part. I expect Sloan to get poached or promoted sometime soon

Dante Moore threw for 1600 yards, 11 td / 9 int.

Are we sure he’s good?
I wouldn't say "we are sure", necessarily, but you can point to a lot of freshman season numbers for guys that eventually became really good players, and those early numbers turn out to be be misleading.

Peyton Manning: 1141 yds, 11 TDs, 6 INTs
Casey Clausen: 1473 yds, 15 TDs, 6 INTs
Matt Stafford: 1749 yds, 7 TDs, 13 INTs

Might be another Joe Brady story where he gets it all way too fast…before he’s ready. Brady just now growing into a competent OC with the Bills.

Man, he really faded into obscurity and suddenly has risen to prominence again leading that offense following the firing of Dorsey.

Buffalo's scoring is up from 24.4 ppg to 29.3 ppg in the 4 games since and that has come against the Jets, Eagles, Chiefs, and Cowboys, and the Bills are 3-1 in those 4 with the loss being a 37-34 loss at Philly in OT.

his family from TN or something?

Old article:

My whole family went to the University of Tennessee," Stewart said. "The offer meant a lot for that reason. I didn't tell (my family). I let them find out on their own (laughs). They blew my phone up."

Stewart and his family are originally from Memphis and as he outlined have fond memories of their time in Knoxville. He hasn't been here in a couple of years, but certain things standout.

"What I like is the campus and the spot that my family and I ate at down on the river (Calhouns)," Stewart said. "I like that stadium. It's mesmerizing."

Stewart attended his first ever college football game inside historic Neyland Stadium. He vividly remembers details that have long stuck with him that made him fall in love with the sport.

"It was against Ole Miss," Stewart said. "I was wearing these two Tennessee bands on my wrists and I had the smokey gray jersey when they first came out when they were by Adidas. We were killing them. We were killing them."

He has offers from so many top schools and he knows it will change how he looks at football in college, but he also knows that their will be a friendly nudge from those closest to him.

"Of course they are going to want me to go to Tennessee," Stewart said.

He contacted us. I don’t know if we have space for a WR, but they’ve been talking all week.
