We are likely to see quite a few current players go elsewhere. How many? Who knows for sure but Butch did say recently that he's gonna find the guys that will give their all for TN this off season (and basically weed out the rest). Dallas and Posey have already left and now T Smith seems to be on his way out. I'd guess possibly as many as 10 guys, counting the 3 mentioned, won't be here after the spring semester. I know this sounds harsh, but for the most part, the more of DD's players that leave the better off we'll be.

I have no idea about possible incoming transfers. Wouldn't be surprised to see 2-3 maybe. Hopefully if we get any they'll be eligible immediately and be able to contribute in the two deep asap.

If Coker were to transfer to the Vols, I would assume Peterman might be looking to leave. The spring competition would be interesting with Worley, Ferguson, Dobbs, and Coker going head to head for next fall. I still think Ferguson might be the long term solution at QB, but he needs a great spring. And to stay healthy!!!!

If Coker were to transfer, wouldn't he have to sit out a year, leaving him ineligible next year?..I cant see FSU releasing him. The only other way to be eligible immediately is due to a hardship, family issues, etc., right?

Doug also said we're taking 33...if I'm not mistaken Butch said 35 himself...

Doug also said that our Juco situation is fluid and that we have 8-10 guys we're after (which may be true), but he followed that up by saying none of them are solid...last I checked we have 4 that are.

Doug will also admit that he's not very well connected to the program anymore

I believe that at least 3-4 current players will transfer out of the program this year. I think tom smith, dre bowles, possibly a DB. Thoughts ???

I'm not positive but I believe Coker will graduate this December. If true, he can enroll in the spring and be immediately eligible IF he selects a graduate program that FSU doesn't offer. This is how Russell Wilson went from NC State to Wisconsin for his final year without sitting out a season. All that said, my understanding is Bama is the favorite IF Coker leaves FSU and it is uncertain whether he truly is looking to transfer.

I seriously don't think Bowles goes anywhere as he has always bled orange, and you surely don't ask an in-state 4* who bleeds orange to "look elsewhere". What kind of message would that send to future in-state players? Just because he hasn't contributed doesn't mean he will not (or cannot) in the future.

The scenario Matthews was talking about was a player transferring that would be eligible immediately. That can only happen in the Russell Wilson scenario; otherwise it takes a hardship waiver and that's no guarantee (see Pickett this year).

Matthews also said we would have 32 new players on scholarship in the fall. Butch has repeatedly said we will sign 35 and LWSVol has shown how that will be possible IF we get our total 85 number to where we can take 35.

There will be some attrition, with a min of 4-5 more players leaving by the time spring practice is over.

I second you.
