Trooper Taylor

Do you guys think TT started out dirty, or do you think some agent / booster got to him during the "desperate" years (last 2 to 3) under Fulmer?

Also, if birds of a feather flock together, why do think Kiffin didn't keep him around?

Because Frank Wilson is a better recruiter without being a complete scumbag...I wouldn't say Kiffin and Taylor are very similar at all

I think they both are dirty recruiters...perhaps Kiffin doesn't do "pay to play"..but dirty is dirty in my book.

They both use sketchy tactics, to be sure, but so do a bunch of other people. Kiffin is a lot better at getting actual contributing recruits, and I can't see him reacting very well to a Trooper-like "make me OC or your players leave" threat.

Wilson had familiarity with the staff and his connections in LA

So anybody wanna take on my first question...do you think that TT started out a little shady, or do you think a booster or agent got to him in the last couple of years he was here to try to lure "elite" talent to UT under Fulmer?

Could be he was always shady but never had the freedom to act on it until recently.

TT being part of a "national championship" team is why college football is a on the verge of disaster and more clues to why the NCAA sucks the sweat off a dead-mans balls.

Taken from another board...

The same strategies Bobby Lowder used to build his banking empire were used to build what he hoped would be a football empire at Auburn. We've all heard whispers of gangs, street agents, 7 on 7 camps, & ineligible players. We've seen the most bizarre National Signing Day in the history of the sport. We've heard of the NCAA going into Louisiana, Arkansas, & now South Florida. The NCAA's latest stop may reveal the blueprint they've been using.

Just like organized crime has a longstanding relationship with gangs, Lowder implemented this same business model in 'his' football program. Enter Trooper Taylor, a controversial and polarizing assistant coach. While some see him as a savior, most recognize him as a buffoon, which admittedly depends on which team you cheer for. Taylor is very tied in with the gangs found in the same inner cities where he has had so much success recruiting. Look at Trooper's body of work. How many of his recruits have found themselves 'staring down the barrel of a gun', a police officer's gun, that is? Trooper Taylor fit into Lowder's plan perfectly.

Let's take a little trip to South Florida. Enter Antron Wright, the man many south Florida recruits claimed led them to University High, a controversial and polarizing correspondence school, and could quite possibly be the nations first well-known example of a street agent with ties to college football. While we have been led to believe that the emergence of street agents is a relatively new problem for Division I Compliance, Mr. Wright shows us he pioneered the idea. Wright has been using his 7 on 7 camps as a way to steer players to the network of coaches he has acquired. The concept behind these camps is really quite brilliant. The coaches, athletic departments, & boosters pay these agents who, in turn, funnel the money to the player & his family. This intricate pay 4 play model allows the agent to literally be the money launderer. Just another Mafia style transaction often implemented by these dirty programs.

One reason Wright is a favorite with dirty coaches like Trooper Taylor is because he will do whatever it takes to deliver these 4 and 5 star recruits. Wright is known to seek out recruits with exceptional athletic abilities but lack the grades to qualify for the D1 schools standing in line for them. A few years ago, he discovered University High, a "diploma factory" that had no classes and no educational accreditation, and appeared to have offered the players little more than a speedy academic makeover. Here is a link that explains this operation in great detail:

Poor Grades Aside, Athletes Get Into College on a $399 Diploma - New York Times

Wright and Taylor have had a friendship dating back to his time at Tennessee. Taylor has publicly acknowledged being friends with Wright, as seen in this article published in 2005:

Vols' Taylor denies contact was recruiting 'street agent' » govolsxtra.com Mobile

While Taylor was an assistant coach there, Demetrice Morley was heavily recruited. Morley was a by product of University High that was allowed a D1 scholarship based on a GPA jump which was due to a NCAA loophole. The center of this was the scandal at University High. On January 14th, 2007, it was reported that he was no longer enrolled at Tennessee. According to several of Morley's teachers he had the potential to succeed in school and become a professional athlete but his shortcuts obtained by using University High prevented this from happening.

Wright's business model was quite simple. He would go in and find kids that were having trouble qualifying academically and lure them to University High. For $399, they could obtain a diploma and qualify academically to play on the D1 level.... As long as they were enrolled in his school. Morley was just one of many kids who fell victim to Wright. Another NY Times article revealed this back in 2007.

Tennessee Says Top Defender Is No Longer Enrolled - New York Times

Fast forward to the present. Wright has found another school similar to University High. Choice Preparatory Academy has helped a number of recruits including Corey Lemonier, Robenson Therezie, Mike Blakely, & Ricardo Louis. However, Choice Prep's business model is somewhat different. It is set up as a correspondence school that these recruits sign up for to boost their gpa's. But what makes it so genius is that the grades are then transferred back to their original high school so they graduate from there. That ensures that no red flags are shown regarding Choice Prep.

While enrolled at Choice Prep, These recruits also take part in his 7 on 7 camps which is how he connects them with Trooper. According to a very recent article from the Sun Sentinel, the NCAA investigation has moved to South Florida. It appears that every recruit out of this area from 2010 to 2012 just so happens to be listed at TOS as a recruit of Trooper.

Starting to make sense yet? There is no way we could know what exactly the NCAA is investigating down there.... But let's speculate for a moment. They are looking into recruiting and Auburn is one of the schools listed. Their players & recruits lead you to discover Choice Prep. Choice Prep leads you to Wright. Wright leads you to 7 on 7 camps. His 7 on 7 camps lead you to Trooper Taylor. If you delete South Florida and Antron Wright's names and insert Lousiana And Sean Nelson, you will uncover what the NCAA already has. And you can play this game with Arkansas and Walt Williams, as well. The NCAA already has.......
