Trouble in Gainsville

but werent one or two of them from the BB gun incident a couple of years ago and the CC fraud case last year?

How many chances can they get at this point?

If Mullen wants to suspend Cleveland and the other second time offender (reserve WR whose name escapes me) 3-4 games, I’m okay with that.

Multiple players caught up in a confrontation with police. Lying about having an air soft gun and the situation.

Sounds mostly like teenagers being teenagers but obviously things are never good when cops get involved and you lie to them.

This just adds to the trouble Florida already has with Justin Watkins arrest.

Obviously this situation is a lot less serious but I am starting to wonder over the control Mullen has with his team.

Report: Multiple Florida players face possible university discipline

About as much control as any of the last ten coaches did. 5-star players, 10-star reprobates. To win big a program has to have them and manage them.

Don't worry, as I told ALGATOR on another thread the idiots they have down there, by actual game time they will prob have the usual 6-7 suspended, but still somehow walk out with a win! Their program is lucky as heck and UT hasnt been in a long while :(

Not to be this guy but...

-Connor Shaw got hurt after a miracle one-handed catch in 2013

-Grier got hurt in 2015 against Florida, slowed him down. Butch blew it.

-Chubb went down in 2015 against UGA at home

-2016 Hail Mary at UGA

-A&M missed a game winning field goal to send us to OT, our first play in OT blew it

-Florida had a game-clinching TD in 2017, we knocked the ball out of their hands to cause a touchback, Butch blew it.

-GA Tech missed a game-winning field goal then botched the 2-point conversion to give us the win

We’ve been pretty darn lucky in recent years... Butch just sucked.

They'll be suspended for a couple of games and be back for Tennessee. Par for the course for Florida.

Exactly. I know ESPN (who by the way hates us) always like to hand out the "Fulmer Cup" to the coach with the most incidents, but its long over due to start calling this the Uban Cup. After all, he did have 31 players arrested in 6 seasons and coached an NFL start convicted of at least one known murder.

With the fine citizens that succeeded Urban’s, maybe it should be renamed the Gator’s Cup? Mullen starting off with a bang...as in frying pan.

-Grier got hurt in 2015 against Florida, slowed him down. Butch blew it. no sure how it is lucky in a loss?

-Chubb went down in 2015 against UGA at home pretty sure we had our fair share of injuries

-2016 Hail Mary at UGA right after their hail Mary, luck went both ways

-A&M missed a game winning field goal to send us to OT, our first play in OT blew it after 5 turnovers and injuries to Kamara and hurd quitting. they were the lucky ones.

-Florida had a game-clinching TD in 2017, we knocked the ball out of their hands to cause a touchback, Butch blew it. again, how lucky is a loss?

-GA Tech missed a game-winning field goal then botched the 2-point conversion to give us the win I don't see this as luck. Luck is like an Auburn reciever catching the ball after it bounced off two Georgia recievers. Or that catch by Justin Hunter against Ole Miss.

I would say the injuries counteract any amount of us being lucky.

Listened to an interview with Heath Eslinger last week. Former wrestling coach, who is now working with the FCA, and he made the comment that talent gets you there, character keeps you there.

From what I hear, the melee was pretty minor. Not good, and suspensions likely, but not much to it and its being somewhat overblown.

What concerns me is that a gambler, mad at losses betting on UF, has any connection to the team or its players. Many theorize that there is a lot of shenanigans going on in college sports and occasionally there is a controversy about a basketball team engaged in points shaving.

I know it goes on in lots of places, but you just cannot ever have that stigma associated with your team, it undermines everything you do. If any of these folks are tied to this guy in anything past acquaintance level, then frankly I think they have to be shown the door even if there is no direct evidence of wrongdoing.

They'll all land somewhere else. But we cannot take the risk of it becoming such a distraction.

I’m with you on the offense seeming more like a bunch of them bein stupid (lying to a cop is very stupid) as opposed to the other player who was dismissed because of major assault charges.

I am also just as curious about this gambler guy. Him having any association with players is troubling
