Do you trust butch or not?

Of course I trust Butch (it's even said in the post), but being a message board, thought I would simply give an opinion.

Evidently, that's a pretty hard concept for a gator to understand. That and basic reading skills.

Most of those guys are in the Nfl now. The list of unsuccessful ones is much longer.

Never said the list of unsuccessful ones wasn't longer.

Simply pointing out it's not impossible to enjoy limited success behind a QB with a last name other than Worley.

No, Gator. Many are immature like children with a new toy. They have never seen the QBs in practice but know so much more than the coaches. They base their rants on rumors, press clippings, the roar of sports talk shows, and a hope for something better.

For me, I trust Butch's judgment on who the QB should be more than myself, the armchair QBs and talk show shock jocks. When or if he makes a change it will be made on his professional evaluation and not the hype of the day.

How many of those played in the SEC?

Manziel was also a true freshman, but A&M really didn't have any other option

Look at all the ones this yr alone. Hackelberg, the guy from Cal, Texas Tech, i know there are several others just cant think of them. Hell we have had alot of guys start as Fr QB's the last 15yr yrs. Peyton, Clausen, Ainge, Bray..all 3 were 4 yr starters outside of Bray.

I think most fans just want something to discuss that's at least optimistic in nature. The QB in any circle NFL, SEC, HS is the easiest to point to and question/blame. Worley has done little to negate that discussion. Which is kind of where a message board comes into play.

Btw tell me FL fans didn't hotly debate their QB situation a year ago. Does that mean they do or don't support Muschamp? I think it means squat other than water cooler talk.

On VolNation? Ha, we don't do optimism here :p

I'd rather leave it up to butch, and you don't know if Dobbs or ferguson are nimble....

Btw they are like 180-190 pounds, if a linebacker gets ahold of them, going to be a bad day. If we are going run, give it to peterman, if we are goin to throw, give it too worley.

Worley=Better passer
Peterman= Better runner

Dobbs or Ferguson=?????? Who knows

They are both 195 now, eating 5500 calories a day... They have gained over 20lbs since they came in

I feel like Worley is the Dooley of our QB's. Here's why: he is smart and understands what should happen, but does not have the fortitude or skills to make it happen.

Are you sure about that? Dobbs is listed on the roster at 193 lbs., but Ferguson is only listed at 181 (Official Football Roster - UTSPORTS.COM - University of Tennessee Athletics).

I stand corrected. According to Riley's father, "when he got there on June 12th or 13th he was 173 and he gained 20 pounds by mid-August. The first game he had gained 20 pounds, but they’re feeding him about 5500 calories a day. That’ll do it.”

(On Riley’s weight)

“I think him and Dobbs are about the same weight. He really gained a lot of weight. Every time I talk to him he says he’s got two shakes in his hand with 3 scoops of Muscle Milk in each one of them. I guess they’re force-feeding him right now" (Riley Ferguson - Tennessee Sports Radio).

That is good to hear. Ferguson was desperately in need of some weight on his bones.

Tell Rucker the swamp has been about as full as Neyland lately. Not exactly intimidating.

TBH, I think the Swamp may be far more intimidating to opposing fans and those in the press box than it is to opposing players. There's always a home team advantage that comes with a good/loud crowd and the fact that the other team has to travel but it's not an insurmountable one, especially if you know the playbook, have a disciplined team with you and can make plays. You quickly adjust to any noise and only see the field.

The bigger issue is whether either one of them is ready not where they make their debut.

Oh how we have forgotten a player named Tyler Bray...it was only a few years ago when our QB play was so pathetic that the University of Tennessee and its knowledgeable fan base (sarcasm) went against all logic and put in a true freshman against South Carolina...remember his first pass??? It was a pick six...then he threw mutiple TD's to keep the game respectable. Bray took his lumps but turned out to be pretty good (would've been better if coached up).....I can't stand hearing putting in a freshman will ruin him and we have no shot to win. The fact of the matter is that we will never know until it is tried....who knows....we may be surprised !!!
