True sheit.... I had my round 2 shingles shot this morning. 30 mins later I got a call from the Health Dept, asking me if I wanted a COVID shot. Sure! Well, have you had any immunizations in the last 30 days. Me... Yes 30 min ago. Ok, well call you back in a month.

My wife bought me a an o2 ring by wellvue my highest score has been a 1.2 out 10 for sleep. And it goes off several times an hour. Last night I had her wear it. Cuz I was afraid she was ripped off. She got a 9.9. No wonder I’m always tired.

I get about 2 hours of deep sleep a night out of 5 hours.

My count down calendar says 8 days, then my manager calls and asked how I felt about a 30 day extension. Brain is wanting to check out... but cannot say no.

So it has just now dawned on them that you’re leaving, and that it might affect them in some way? They did that to me too.

Unless you really, really want to keep working for YOUR sake, not just out of kindness to fellow employees and boss, think about adding some conditions. “In the next 30 days, assign someone to me at 50%/75% of their time to train as an interim to learn what I do, and begin doing it. I will create a new/ fine-tune an existing ‘death book’ that lists what I do, why I do it, what will happen if it’s not done, plus list all the online and print resources necessary for my successor to be able to step in and move forward from day one.” Etc.

Or else you will still be getting calls 2-3 years later, asking for your help and advice, and promising the moon in return, which won’t happen. Ask me how I know.

And I actually did all this before I left, saving everything on the service drive, leaving detailed instructions as to what was there and how to use it, and they STILL called.

Because as much as you prepare them, the warm body that their familiar with can’t be replaced.
 
Welp... I have been asked to stay on until April 7th. A 30 day extension tacked onto the initial 60 day extension. Now we need to negotiate the terms. My mind is already checking out, but there are a couple of things I am working on that had a very high probability of not working....however, I have now created some serious interest with the progress of the work to date. I am going to push for a 3 day work week, and a lump sum bonus. Otherwise, it toes in the water and azz in the sand.

Dam bears... they can't dumpster dive without me helping them to get back out.
