There’s always blowback. Liberals don’t get their shows cancelled. The View and Jimmy Kimmel have said some rather distasteful stuff and their still employeed. Fairly certain Keith Olbermann is still employed by ESPN. And that’s just ABC.

Either way it doesn’t matter. Roseanne is a fat, talentless slob and the last thing I want to do is spend my night defending her. That was far from what I was attempting to do. So I’ll move on but to act like this wasn’t politically motivated is a joke.

Never seen it...but have seen many of his shows, and he trashes all races with equal fervor. And is hilarious...books=kryptonite comes to mind. Funny, funny stuff. Dave Chappelle was even funnier IMO, and his stuff such as "black white supremacist" (blind) was gutbusting funny, and black leaders came out to say that he had set race relations back decades...stupid leftist crap as usual. The offended folks never bothered to actually listen and watch the programs as a whole and see that both comics trashed white people every bit as much as black folks if not more..

Nope. I've lived in the southeast my entire life and I've never heard anyone joke about black people eating mass amounts of fried chicken, collared greens, chitlins and watermelon. Never heard it. Ever.

I think Roseanne is a dumbass personally. It’s all about politics ( mainly anti-Trump) and money.... they don’t really truly give a Sh!t ‘what’s’ said, it’s if they’ll be attacked and evicirated.

What about Joy Behar, Bill Maher etc etc...they're still around, the hypocrisy is laughable. I’m just sayin.

As much as I loathe Joy Behar she should be allowed to give her point of view, but someone on the opposite side of the aisle should also have that opportunity. McCain’s daughter doesn’t exactly balance the show.

I agree that it is not productive to bash her. The best way to get backwards thinking folks who identify with her tweet is to persuade them to change their point of view.

Bashing her for her ignorance and bigotry does not do that. In fact, it just entrenches those who feel that way with a seething resentment that they should feel badly for their beliefs.

That is exactly the resentment that Trump tapped into in 2016. Bashing Barr does not bring those like her closer to a point of reasonableness. It just drives them further underground until someone like Trump exploits them.

So how does bashing Trump fit into your picture? The basis of opposing racism and bigotry is opposing hatred in general. Racism is just a specific form of hatred. So what purpose is served by the continuous revilement of Trump by the left? If the liberal agenda is supposedly about inclusiveness, why do they feel the need to ostracize those who disagree? They tend to send a contradictory message.

My problem stems from liberals painting themselves in a saintly light, all while slinging the same mud as everyone else. At some point, you get off the high horse and admit when it comes to tactics, one party is no better than the other.

The difference is two fold. First, he's President and in this case is emblematic of many of the worst characteristics of all politicians, and particularly of what we will loosely call the alt right.

Second, there isn't another path with him. His position is built on attack. It's the only way to bring him down.
