So the party supposedly against hate speech resorts to hate speech, but it's okay because Trump is orange, not black, not Asian, not any type of minority. It's okay to hate white people? Is that what it is? That's not unity.
And the excuse is supposedly that's the level HE operates on so we have to sink to that level to combat him? Well that's silly for a number of reasons. First and foremost, you're making it seem he's acting on a different level than DC has seen in the past. That's an absolute falsehood. DC has been sludging around in the same mud for most of my life. Same tactics I've always seen. The narrative that they're new is just that, a narrative. And then you have the hypocrisy of Dems claiming they take the high road. How is "sinking" to his level taking the high road? In DC there seems to be only one road, and both parties use it. The high road is a fiction that sounds good, but no one in Washington has ever found it. It's a myth.
I'm of the opinion all politicians are bad. I don't buy into Trump's "drain the swamp" schtick. To me, he's another politician, no better, no worse than what's come before. I understand he's supposedly seen as an outsider simply because his road to the presidency was atypical of past Presidents, but to me, he acts like every other politician I've witnessed. Some will disagree, and that's fine, but I don't see Trump as a savior for the country. I also don't see him as the destroyer of our country. He's just another guy in office attempting to guide the country like other POTUSes before him. Eventually someone will takes his place and every one will choose a side on whether or not that President is good or bad for the country. It's the same story, over and over, so I don't really understand why everyone always gets their panties in a bunch.
He was the choice of the people. You don't have to like it, but at some point, you should accept it. Whether he serves one term or two, he'll eventually leave office and politics and the country will continue on, like they always have.
