Trump called Roseanne Barr to congratulate her on huge ratings success

What Roseanne said was bad. No excuse for her words. Yet Samantha Bee calling Ivanka Trump a "feckless ****" is okay? Olberman(or however you spell his last name) repeatedly referring to Trump as a Nazi is okay? Hate is hate. It's a very simple concept. You can criticize someone without resorting to pointless namecalling. You can't claim to be against hate all the while spreading it yourself. That's not how it works. If you're going to hold yourself up as morally superior, then you damn well need to act accordingly, imo. Personally, I'm tired of the hypocritical talking heads I constantly see on TV or read on the internet. From BOTH parties. Wrong is wrong. It doesn't become right when you decide to employ it as a tactic.

Anyone can say whatever they want about Rs, doesn't matter if that R is a woman, black person etc.. all ok and fair game.

I agree with you that the name calling is wrong and childish. It is the hallmark of those who cannot present a coherent argument based on facts and logic.

---- Signed, Donald Trump, who has called Frank Luntz "a clown" and a"a low-class slob," called Bob Corker "liddle Bob," called Alicia Machado "a con," called Jim Acosta "crazy," called Ted Cruz "Lyin' Ted" and a "wacko,"called Cokie Roberts "kooky," called Mitt Romney "one of the dumbest and worst candidates," and "goofy and awkward," called Matt Bai a"dummy," called Lavar Ball an "ungrateful fool," called Steve Bannon "Sloppy Steve," called S.E.Cupp a "flunkie," called Glenn Beck "dumb as a rock" a "wacko" and a "mental basketcase" ......

I think you get my point.

Am I supposed to have some epiphany about Trump because you point out he uses the name calling tactic as well? It's a common theme among politicians. I find it wrong no matter which side is doing it. But he's still the POTUS, and name calling is not an impeachable offense. Feel free to be outraged by it, but feel that same outrage when your heroes on the left do the same thing. Honestly LG, your post comes across as an excuse for people using behavior you consider bad simply because Trump, someone you strongly oppose, uses said behavior. If you think it wrong, I would expect you would support people who believe in a higher standard themselves. The fact they do the exact same thing, that they "sink" to the same level, and you defend it... Makes me believe it's not the behavior you have a problem with. It's the politics.

When people have pointed out Trump's character issues in the past, I've not ignored them or excused them. I've agreed with them. But poor character is not an impeachable offense.

Out of curiosity, despite the numerous threads that exist for you to do it in, is there a particular reason that you feel the need to try and turn every thread into a Trump bashing thread? I get he's the President and all, but there are more things to discuss than just Trump.

In case you missed my point, it's that despite your initial "agreement", you find it okay when the left engages in the same behavior you find abhorrent in Trump. It's not about what's right or what's wrong, it's about the political affiliation the person belongs to. You are the hypocrisy I'm pointing out.

Any of that impeachable, by any chance?

I'm sure it's just a confidence that out of the blue Trump pardoned the Dinesh guy, who has a long history of racism. And he did it without going through the pardons department and just days after the Barr thing.

Could it be he is letting Barr and his racist supporters know that he's with them ? Nah. No way. It's just coincidence.
The Indian has a long history of racism? Did he own slaves while in India or what? I get it.....he is a conservative and you hate him.

All because of Tiffany?

Dudes...As someone who works outside a lot and seems to never have enough pockets, I have to ask; what good are these when they're soo small?

ABC's decision to ax Roseanne in the wake of its star's racist tweet could end up costing the network $1 billion, Tom Arnold claims.

On Wednesday, Barr's ex-husband Arnold appeared on AC360 to warn that it was would be a costly decision.

'ABC lost maybe $1 billion from this,' he said.

'This show was grinding out money hand over fist and they lost it all because somebody didn't say, 'Get that phone out of her hand,'' Arnold added.

Before the controversy, ABC had ordered 13-episode second season for the show.

And stars, including Sara Gilbert, Laurie Metcalf and John Goodman, all expect to be paid for the scrapped season.

Sources told the Hollywood Reporter that the stars recently negotiated new deals for the 11th season at $300,000 an episode, up from $250,000 a year before.

They are expecting to be paid for at least ten of the 13 scrapped episodes.

Barr was due to receive $500,000 per episode although it's not clear whether she will be paid, potentially depending on factors such as whether her contract has a morality clause.

It is also unclear how much the writers and remaining 200 crew would be compensated.

Different companies involved, but just to show the double standard, remember when Jeffery Lord got fired from CNN for tweeting "Sieg Heil" to a liberal, yet the left has no problem with Keith Olbermann getting rehired despite constantly referring to Trump as a Nazi?
