I'm okay with menial jobs being done by people with no skills which is what is coming across our southern border, you know the illegals. I'm not okay with firing American workers so you can hire a few number johnny five workers to take their place and save $100k. If you don't like it do as Biden told the coal miners and "learn to code" so you too can be laid off and replaced with an Indian.
So now you are moving the goalposts. VolStrom never mentioned anything about construction workers, but you did. It is obvious that the workers we are talking about are (mostly) low skilled workers, not construction. So you're saying construction is not skilled labor? Because a lot of skilled labor is being lost to foreign labor as well. Not because the labor is better, but because it is cheaper.
but he uses H1B workers at his properties?
President Donald Trump H-1B Petitions to Hire Foreign Workers | Factbase
you spiking the football and beating your chest is stupid.
Trump told reporters at the White House he’s firing TVA board chairman James Thompson and board member Richard Howorth for laying off dozens of IT workers while hiring foreign replacements. Trump said Lyash will soon lose his job too.
“We’re getting rid of [Lyash] in one form or another. Either the board’s gonna do it, or we’re gonna do it, but he’s gone,” he said.
These f sticks are still considered federal employees and all of them serve at the pleasure of the president, so I'm guessing he's gone one way or the other. Good riddance. I am so sick of companies "outsourcing" US workers with foreign works to save 50 cents.
Maybe not the employees, but the board members are appointed by the government and if they are appointed by the government they can be fired by the government. The TVA was created by the federal government to control flooding, provide electric power and CREATE JOBS for the people of the Tennessee Valley. Outsourcing jobs to India is the most assenine thing I could ever imagine TVA doing.Actually, TVA employees do not get federal benefits and are not considered federal employees.
Their benefits are paid for by power revenue, so you are correct in them being financially independent. I'm not arguing that point. Where you are incorrect is not calling them federal employees, because they are. Even your own words indicate that (see the highlighted above). If they are federal employees, they'd get federal benefits and participate in federal retirement plans. They do not. They are employees of TVA, which is a private company owned by the federal government..
Barry Goldwater proposed selling TVA during his run for President in 1964, needless to say, he didn't get many votes in the Tennessee Valley. I know several people who have worked for TVA and have heard their stories on how TVA wastes money.WTF is it about?
Wanting to get the right people in place for when the new infrastructure bill passes? Or just one step towards selling off TVA?
I just had lunch with one of my oldest friends who retired from TVA after 36 years at Watts Bar nuclear plant. He went right back to work with them and was happy as a lark since he wasn't subject to call-ins or forced overtime with no extra pay and could just work a 40 hour week and forget about the place when he went home.I love how they allow people to "retire" from TVA and then are hired by TVA as contractors.
