Trump on track for Supreme Court Victory on Census Citizenship Question

Honestly, I don't know how I feel about the immigration question. Not sure if it's wrong, right or indifferent. But what I do know is I'm opposed to it solely because Trump wants it. That's all I really need to know to be confident that it really serves no purpose other than Trump's ego and pledge to fulfill his base's anti-immigration slant.

So if Trump came out as pro child rape you would be for it? Sound use of your brain.

A president following thru for his base. Terrible. He should have just lied about it, right?

No, it is not a first.

It's not a complicated issue. It's all about states trying to protect congressional seats and federal funding.

They can't even change attorneys properly.

Trump's laughable incompetence would be amusing if he weren't our President. Has anyone kept a running list of all the Executive Orders and other Trump shenanigans that have been outright barred and overturned by the Courts? Seems like most everything he's done of any consequence has been reversed.

Also, glad to see the English diplomat come out and call a spade a spade recently, as well:

"We don’t really believe this administration is going to become substantially more normal; less dysfunctional; less unpredictable; less faction riven; less diplomatically clumsy and inept..."

"Trump’s presidency could “crash and burn” and “end in disgrace”"

Hear, Hear!

This mentality is partly why we are where we are now

So, is Trump gonna issue an executive order instructing the Census Bureau to move forward with printing the forms including the citizenship question that the Supreme Court rejected?

If yes, are you good with the Executive branch defying the Judicial branch?

Will Trump administration defy the Supreme Court?

It appears to be the route the administration is wanting to take in order to get new lawyers to defend putting the citizen question on census. The EO will be challenged in court and the WH will use the lawyers they prefer since it was blocked by two other judges.

I'd like to hear the real story on why they tried switching attorneys at this late juncture.

Ethics. The attorneys on the case were unwilling to advocate for what they perceive to be an untenable legal position. They also agreed to allow into the record the late evidence of motive, which is ultimately what sunk it.

Trump wanted to replace them in hopes of trying for rehearing or another legal bid.

Activists that ignore the rule of law aren’t real judges.

Wrong. The judges followed the constitution. The Constitution requires that the census taken every ten years must be a total “enumeration” and that has long been understood as counting everyone living in America at the time the census is performed – citizens and non-citizens, legal residents and immigrant residents living in the United States without legal permission.

So, just because you don't like news, doesn't make it "fake news" and, similarly, just because you don't like the judges' decision, doesn't make them not "real judges".

Nobody has denied that. The issue is illegals shouldn’t count towards our electorate. Since people here ILLEGALLY can’t vote it’s reasonable to know or have a better idea what the actual numbers are.

So amend the constitution.

And should we be counting children in the census? They can't vote either.
