Trump on track for Supreme Court Victory on Census Citizenship Question

Wait, so you would allow them to work and presumably pay taxes yet have no say in how to handle their own earned money?
Exactly, reduced form of citizenship. You want to come here outside of the system, we will let you, but you don't get any benefit other than making more than $0.2 per day like you were. No welfare, no unemployment, no SS, no FICA. If their employer offers health insurance they can have that, hell, they can even sign up for ACA (yes, I know, that's our tax money to some extent). They could reap the benefits of not having the extra taxes taken out, they just don't get to collect. If and when they become citizens, they can get a new SS Card that would allow them access to all benefits and tax burdens that a 1st class Citizen would get. The health care portion of it would take some work but you get my drift.

Anchor babies also derive citizenship from the parents, so if illegal US citizenship were removed they still wouldn't be stateless.
illegal US citizenship? So it's illegal to claim US citizenship if born on US soil?

At 6 lbs and a day old I doubt you can claim anything. Your parents however can speak for you and renounce your citizenship and all get deported together or claim that you’re a citizen and wave bye as you’re put in protective custody and they’re shipped back home.

my comment was more about the ban on sending money to other people

You're now rewriting established law for all tax residents. Are we now going to remove all those who aren't citizens as well?

So more govt programs to raise more kids? Where have all the small govt peeps gone?

I want them to have a different status than the illegal moniker. If that happens as it should and they are living/working in a community then they should be represented. That part is not as important as giving them the ability to live, drive, pay taxes, etc without fear of being separated from their children. It also gives us jobs being filled that aren't currently

That is not the question at hand.

Even if they had a different legal status the census since it is used for reapportionment should have the question, number of US citizens right under number of people who live there. Only the number of US citizens should be considered in reapportionment. There are many legal non-US citizens living in the country so I do not understand the opposition to citizenship status being part of the census.

Hey, I said it was a rough draft. You wanted them here to work and pay taxes. I want that too, I just don't want them to vote. Pretty easy. They need to be documented so a 2nd class citizenship would work. You are the details guy, think on it.

If I dropped by and stole your car, then I would think that you would claim I have your car illegally because I gained it by an illegal act. If the kid was born here illegally because the parents are here legally, then why would that illegal act be rewarded with US citizenship? Don't you think that rights and privileges (as guaranteed in the Constitution and amendments) are predicated on a legal rather than an illegal basis?

The ones I mentioned are fully documented and pay taxes, SS, etc.

The argument from the critics is that the administration is doing this so as to cause some portion of illegal alien recipients not to answer, thereby reducing the resources delivered to areas in which they live and reduce representation of such areas in Congress.

Many folks here seem to think that is a perfectly fine rationale for doing so.

Do you want your representation in congress to be reduced by a seat in the house in favor of one being added to New Mexico because we are counting non citizens the same as we count citizens?

How is a baby illegally born?

They aren't citizens either which was a key point of your post
No, the point of my post was responding to your bleeding heart desire to remove the "illegal" moniker. If they are here illegally they need to have something done with them. You aren't making sense. You are either talking about illegal persons in the country or they are documented. There isn't between ground.

Actually you've switched from citizen to just documented. Stay consistent and posts make more sense
