It's been outlined clearly in the thread. If Twitter is a product, like you said, then I can use it basically however I want. If I'm censored, then Twitter isn't a product, it's a publisher. Publishers are responsible for what they publish.

I'm torn on this one for a number of reasons. But that is the argument. And it is solid as far as I'm concerned. Twitter rode a wave of government exemptions to a massive user base, and now wants to play by different rules.

Has twitter never banned content before or removed messages? Or is this only now a problem because it somewhat in a roundabout way impacts you?

Either it's always been a problem, or it's not problem. Because twitter and FB have been restricting content since day one. Otherwise there would be a lot more porn on all those platforms.

For one thing, Obama only used Twitter on seldom occasions and never mentioned any of those things in a tweet. Obama didn't use Twitter as a means of reaching his base the way Trump does. Obama mostly just used it to wish people a "Happy Thanksgiving" or a "Merry Christmas and have a Happy New Year"! What was Twitter going to fact check?
