Trump Supporters Gathering in D.C. - Mayor Readies for Those ‘Seeking Confrontation’

you just throw crap out there and expect it to stick don't you? it couldn't just be that BOTH crowds had a large amount of people protesting normally, mixed with excitable and loud people who were doing some things they shouldnt, some who were just there to record and see what happens, and some felons/criminals/anarchists types who want to assault, steal, vandalize, whatever
That's exactly what it was. I wish more people understood that. I've seen the BLM protests demonized and vilified for months in the PF. People carrying on like they were some kind of radical threat out burning down businesses and killing people.
Total ignorance.

I say censure them, strip them of all committee assignments, and force them to live out their public service lives in the spotlight of their office but stripped of influence.

And appoint a Democrat representative to each committee seat vacated?

Heh. No violence necessary... I know that's the radical right fall-back. Just removal from office.

Then there would be someone else elected to take their place ...... etc, etc. Just as the loony Dems are replaced with more of the same loony stupidity as the ones before them. The cycle never seems to end.

No. It's the old "you foment sedition" rule, eh.

Everyone who supported the "root causes" of Trump's insurrection [READ: "The election was stolen from you"] are insurrectionists. Pretty simple math.

You commit the crime, you do the time. Or in this case, impeachment.
Do it. You guys really know how to heal.

Around 95%. That's my true estimate.
Radical in my mind would be motivated, malignant, confrontation conspiracy theorists.

Not the benign type which likes to converse on the grassy knoll in Dallas.

Still 95%?

That is exactly what a good portion of them where..... this all could be stopped if we sent in enough cops to take down anyone getting violent or destructive...... I don’t care who you are.

From the State Department: Dissent Cable

1. On January 6, 2021, the United States witnessed an unprecedented effort by American citizens to violently subvert the democratic will of the American people. After months of promoting baseless claims of voter fraud, which were rejected by the judiciary in dozens of cases, President Trump encouraged supporters, some armed, to storm the U.S. Capitol while Congress was certifying the results of a free and fair presidential election. His incitement led to a violent riot in the U.S. Capitol, five deaths, untold injuries, destruction and vandalism of government property, and incalculable damage to our democratic system and our image abroad. He played an integral role in breaking the 220-year streak of peaceful transfer of power between political parties during U.S. elections. (End of point 1).

2: The Department of State should explicitly denounce President Trump's role in this violent attack on the U.S. government. Just as we routinely denounce foreign leaders who use violence and intimidation to interfere in peaceful democratic processes and override the will of their voters, the Department's public statements about this episode should also mention President Trump by name. It is critical that we communicate to the world that in our system, no one -- not even the president. is above the law or immune from public criticism
(End of Point 2)

Point 3:

Department press guidance describing this violent riot should include the following line: "President Trump's incitement of violence against the certification of the United States' free and fair elections is unacceptable and incompatible with our laws, the democratic values and protected fundamental freedoms enshrined in our founding documents, and our long tradition of a peaceful and orderly transfer of power." Our guidance should NOT include any quotes by President Trump about the episode, as his is not a credible voice on this matter. (End of Point 3)

4th and Final Point in State Dept Dissent Cable:

This change in our guidance would be a first step towards repairing the damage these events have inflicted on our international credibility. It would allow the United States to remain a beacon of democracy despite this dark episode. It would also send a strong message to our friends and adversaries that the Department of State applies an ethos of integrity and objective standards which it condemns assaults on democracy at home or abroad. (END CABLE)

There were several protests around the country that became full on riots in literally dozens of cities. Now im not saying they were all BLM because i actually believe most were overtaken by ANTIFA/local and "professional" anarchists who just want to watch the world burn. But to say 99% of these protests over the summer were peaceful simply isn't correct

hopefully the GOP will cleanse themselves of the conspiracy theorists among them. That is the only way that they survive. They will never win another national election if they don't. Most sane people don't want to be attached to that. A thing that will help is if FB, Youtube, and these other social media giants purge the conspiracy members. They know that it isn't true, but money overrules all.

Lol. You wouldn’t know what a sane person is because you’re definitely not one. There is no conspiracy that the left is full of radicals and nutjobs. People will only be pushed so far and although the protest on Wednesday may have went too far it will get worse if the radicals aren’t careful.

I still tend to believe that this area was considered "off-limits" to ANY protestors/rioters because they were defending the last hallway that Congresspersons were in. Thus anyone coming thru that window was going to be shot. OR the guy legit was in fear of his life not knowing what the woman had on her person which is also a valid shooting OR he could've just panicked and shot her, but either way it's not a "bad shoot" necessarily

Was it posted as “off limits”? Was it posted that “deadly force is authorized“...as we do on our sensitive military installations?

And “panicked and shot her” is under no circumstances a good shoot.

Whoever wrote that needs to be removed from the State Department ASAP. Actually the entire state department needs to be overhauled with new people.

Yes. Mass censorship on a national level against anyone that disagrees with your ideas must be silenced. SMH.

So much for unity.

I said censorship of conspiracy theory driven media. There are no lizard people, there are no kids being sacrificed in pizza shops. All that is crazy talk that will get some innocent person killed.

The Secret Service and Capital Police have carte blanche to protect elected officials anywhere but especially federal property. The door was clearly barricaded with them behind it, it was 100% deadly force is authorized due to the circumstances.
My point was even if he "panicked and shot her" it's still a legal justified shooting according to federal laws

Tucker Carlson turns on Trump: Fox host says president has reached his 'shelf life' as he blames him for inciting the U.S. Capitol riot after he 'recklessly encouraged' his supporters

Fox News' Tucker Carlson on Thursday night called out President Donald Trump after he 'recklessly encouraged' his supporters to invade the U.S. Capitol on Wednesday sparking violence that has resulted in five fatalities.

Carlson, a Trump ally who has spent the majority of his presidential term praising and protecting him, claimed that the president has now reached the end of his 'shelf life' and it was 'not healthy' for the nation to continue being 'focused on a single man'.

The Fox host added that Trump has now reached his 'expiration date' and questioned whether the president is 'worth all of this time and attention'.
