Judge Releases Left Wing Agitator John Sullivan Without Bail Against the Pleas of the Prosecutors
By Nick Arama | Jan 16, 2021 11:00 AM ET
BLM/Antifa riots had one common factor afterward, at least in Democratic-run cities – that even if the person was arrested, he/she/other pronouns was virtually always quickly released without bail.
Looks like left-wing activist John Sullivan is still lucking out under that maxim, even though he’s facing federal charges.
Sullivan was involved in the action at the Capitol on Jan. 6 where you can hear him on his own video, according to federal authorities, encouraging people into the Capitol saying, “Let’s go. This **** is ours!” and “Let’s burn this **** down.”
Sullivan was arrested on Jan. 14 in his home state of Utah. He was charged with one count of knowingly entering or remaining in any restricted building or grounds without lawful authority, one count of violent entry and disorderly conduct on Capitol grounds, and one count of interfering with law enforcement engaged in the lawful performance of their official duties incident to and during the commission of civil disorder.
Prosecutors asked that he be held in jail until trial, arguing that he incited riots using social media and “thrives on chaos.” They claimed he presented a risk if released. But under bail reform requirements, the judge, Daphne Oberg, said that the threshold wasn’t met to be able to hold him and released him without bail, with the conditions that he stay off social media, surrender his passport and be on house arrest. She also said he will have to stop working for the Insurgence radical leftist group he formed that talks about revolution and sells black bloc gear, although he wouldn’t have to give up control of the group, she said. He’s also prohibited from having firearms.
Sullivan’s release is one more thing we can chalk up to ridiculous liberal bail reform.
