Trump to sign national security funding bill, then declare State of Emergency

When should we expect a new immigration bill?
You guys have the congress do bills not start in congress? The reality is, they liberals in congress have went on record that they won't support any form of a wall, despite the fact they've supported them in the past. So that means they can't really start with number one. When you have a leaky dam you try and fix the leaks before you discuss a new dam.

Come on, it's more complicated than that oversimplified choice of for a wall or for open borders. There is legit reason to feel that a wall is simply creating a false sense of security and is 80 percent a symbol of disdain for Hispanic illegal immigrants, maybe 20 percent real policy of preventing illegal immigration.

C'mon LG. That's complete BS. Stats? We wouldn't need a wall/barrier, etc. if we didn't have 14 million plus illegal aliens here already, refusing to acknowledge and comply with our immigration laws. You don't see the problem in that? The wall isn't intended to stop the flow, it's intended to slow down and force people to defined points of entry and procedure to enter the country in accordance with our immigration laws. Why is this hard for y'all? It's also intended, as it slows down the number of people able to cross illegally, to give our CBP agents and technology more time to head them off and be able to enforce our immigration laws and policy better. It has ZERO to do with being racist. Good gawd. This is not some evil plot. We have an obligation to do so according to our laws.

Edit: Has a lot to do with stemming the flow of human trafficking and drug interdiction as well.

VN is a place where no one should take libtard as an insult because, 90% of the time, the poster using that insult tends to have a reading level rivaling that of an 8 year old.

It's kind of a calling card for people who get their political views from chain emails and Joe Rogan.
Yea, it's sort of like the "red hatters" term.

No, all crimes of a similar nature must be enforced in the same exact way. Don't want any calls of hypocrisy do we? Let's load up the courts and jails!

Only other crimes but not crossing illegally? What exactly are those? Why not put them in jails? We need to put them somewhere before they get thrown back.

Without a real immigration policy the wall is worthless. It's an opiate to make scared little grandmas sleep better at night. Is like busting the corner dealer

I don't disagree with this. However, at the same time, a "real" immigration policy is worthless without a wall. It does no good to say what we do with our current illegals, and define a "path to citizenship" (I thought we already had one of those) if we can't keep illegal immigration out of our borders.

Then why is only one being addressed? Why does this national emergency not include emergency reform? It's not like a wall is going up in a couple of weeks or even months.

Man, aren't you touchy, offended by being called "You Guys". Why don't you zuys or zals let us know what is appropriate?

Not quite the 8 that Obama had. Are we not in year two? Also, the folks you and yours (Is that ok?) have fought him on every front since he took office. And I'll point out that the senate has not bee filibuster proof anytime he was in office.

Why ask why? Stop the flow and then give Congress time to hash out the legislative details. I guess you would prefer Trump dictate immigration reform as opposed to having Congress do it?

I never said it was offensive I said it's as tiresome as the left calling everyone a racist. If you want to have ab real discussion quit the backhanded name calling

this shows it's unlikely you understand either position. You simply like easy labels so you know what to disagree with.
You're the one that called me out for using the word "Lib", no?

I understand both positions perfectly, obviously better than you.

I ask because it's the most important question. Huge parts of our economy depend on the labor.

What have they been doing for his first 2 years? The wall is low hanging fruit but people eat it up. It's theater

So what would the reform be? I do think we have to be able, with today's technology, to expedite worker visas/green cards and certainly those wanting to gain citizenship. Shouldn't take ten years to become a citizen. But how much of a problem is lack of documentation from their country of origin? IF they don't have ID from their country, I have to think that poses a huge problem for us when we try to process these people.

I said using labels like that is lazy. It's appears you're perfectly ok with that. Your place in the circle is solidified

You are 100% correct. This is nothing more than the liberals in congress opposing anything Trump does whether it makes sense or not.

My people have fought him? Who would my people be exactly? Please be specific since you claim to know my position better than I do

There is nothing lazy about referring to someone by their political ideology . Like I said if you are so offended by it to call someone "Lazy" because they use it, maybe you should do some self reflection.

I don't agree with that. Pointing out that there are bad people illegally in this country is not appealing to the worst in people. As PJ suggested earlier, do we not have our own bad people to contend with? Why would we want bad people from other countries here? None of that suggests that ALL illegals are violent offenders, but the fact they've entered illegally means we know next to nothing about them. And I've seen no one come out against legal immigration.
Sometimes the truth is considered racist to some people.

Your liberal politicians in Washington. If you are trying to claim you're not a liberal, then as it's been pointed out many times on here by many different folks, you may not even know what you stand for.

Absolutely there needs to be a way to staff certain industries without the huge delays. That is a bigger hurdle than the wall will ever be

Not sure that any of that necessitates that we don't build the wall as part of the immigration reform, which of what I responded to. And I'm not sure that that's the most important question if we agree that we need to stem the flow of illegal immigrants and the wall is part of it.

It almost sounds like you are trying to reframe the conversation to the med for illegal immigrants, by the way.

I'm not a liberal like you believe one to be. I am well aware of my positions
