I'm glad that bill was killed, it was a good start but some of it's provisions such as the path to citizenship it laid out are non-starters. That and it didn't increase the penalties on employers who hire illegals. Fix those two things and I'd support a candidate willing to vote for it.

Or just start enforcing current laws. E-verify won’t do anything. Employers will still hire illegals under the table.

They’re here because their countries are **** and the U.S. isn’t. Yet. The only real way to keep them from coming here is to make our country a ****hole too. I don’t want that.

I don't think one has to be particularly intelligent to comprehend that humans (including Mexican's) can run, swim and jump - over, under and around a wall. The human spirit is an amazing thing and where there's a will there's a way.

You've bought the narrative of the security theater border wall, no one is going to change your mind that it'll be effective - but it's too costly of an undertaking on the American taxpayer to laugh at you when it fails.
