Trump wanted to be added to Mt. Rushmore

This is pathetically ignorant of what the Trump Administration has already done. Here are two facts for you, which you couldn't possibly be aware of:

1) Spending has increased $800 billion under President Donald Trump.

2) On February 5, 2020, President Donald Trump released a record $4.829 trillion federal budget proposal for the Fiscal Year of 2021. The U.S. government estimates it will receive $3.863 trillion in revenue, creating a $966 billion deficit for Fiscal Year Oct. 1, 2020 through Sept. 30, 2021...

... and here is the kicker: All of this was BEFORE the COVID-19 pandemic raised the Fiscal Year 2021 deficit to $2.1 trillion. The Fiscal Year 2020 deficit will be $3.7 trillion. Taxing and spending is at least a sound fiscal policy. Cutting taxes and hyper-spending as Trump has done, is not. Trump is spending this country into oblivion... but by all means, beat that stupid and hypocritical "the Democrats are reckless spenders" horse to death. It only makes you guys look even more detached from reality than you already do.

There aren't enough negative words in the English language to describe what the Trump admin has done to our national debt.

It is ignorant to suggest that the Democrats would spend as much as Trump, when nobody has ever spent as much as Trump... and he has managed to do this in just four years. Do you really want to give him four more after this? He will bankrupt the country.
Every guy spends more than the last guy since we've now allowed govt to grow to such a massive scale. Where have you ever gotten the idea I want more Trump? I simply find the idea that an addled Biden will suddenly institute sound fiscal policy to be a ridiculous idea.

Will bankrupt? We've been paying on credit for longer than 3.5 years

Interesting that I'm ignorant of what he's done when I've actually quoted the exact same numbers. In fact I've quoted Trump's line many times where he said he didn't believe in a budget.

What I've done is watch what the dems have done when given a little support for spending. It's completely ridiculous and would only get worse with no one to check them

And I'm sorry but taxing citizens into oblivion so you can spend even bigger amounts of money is not sound policy. It's theft

Can you define which "you guys" I'm a part of now? It seems to change daily. It's almost like you reply to everyone the same with no attention paid to the poster being quoted

Spending that adds to the debt is theft too, and it might even be worse. We're not stealing from ourselves, we're stealing from our future (our kids and grandkids, etc.).

HUH?

Clinton spent more than Bush, Bush spent more than Clinton, Obama spent more than Bush. Trump spent more than Obama. WTH makes you think Biden will break the cycle?

Trump's spending is so astronomically high, we have to hope we see a decline no matter who is in charge. If we're going to keep having years like 2020, we'll be Venezuela by the end of the decade.

We won't see a decline regardless of who is occupying the WH.

It's a pretty sh**y state when people think someone that will still outspend previous presidents, just at a slightly lower rate, is a fix to our problems.

We may see a decline due to less covid spending, but as far as normal deficits, I'd expect them to remain.

Why are some of y'all trying to excuse the Democrats' role in uncontrolled spending? Trump didn't do it unilaterally.

They all ****ing suck.
I expect this fall that the Democrats, and the media will happily follow along, will moan and cry about all the deficit spending this year during the Trump administration as an election strategy. All the while forgetting that they wanted more deficit spending that as of yet hasn't passed.

Well, he does have an unrivaled track record in bankruptcies, so what's one more?

Obviously, but for the sake of general discourse, I look forward to the MAGA lemmings having one reason to shut the **** up for but a moment.
I understand that. It will be the same as watching the last election. I found it hilarious watching the reports of Hillary losing. Little while later it sunk in what was happening and wasn't really so funny anymore. I expect to have the same reaction this year

Personally, I think William Howard Taft should have been on Mount Rushmore. Underrated due to his bigness.

Regardless of who wins this election the candidates from the 2 main parties will only get worse from here on out. Nobody qualified for the job, nobody who should want the awesome responsibility that comes with the job wants it.
I don't disagree with that. So, how do we fix it??

IMO one of the best one-termers we've had as president. TR coming back and running in 1912 killed his shot at reelection and opened the door for Wilson.
Certainly had one of the brightest minds and was also a gentleman...something today's politics seem to be lacking.
