Sessions interviewed by Mueller's team in Russia investigation - The Washington Post
Sessions was questioned for several hours, the officials said. In addition to the Russian coordination probe, Mueller is also investigating whether President Trump or any White House officials sought to obstruct justice in the probe.
After The Washington Post reported that he met at least twice with Kislyak in 2016, Sessions announced he was recusing himself from investigations involving the election, based on the advice of Justice Department ethics lawyers.
He has since maintained that he misunderstood the scope of the question at his confirmation hearing, and that his meetings with Kislyak were fleeting or strictly in his capacity as a U.S. senator. In announcing his recusal, Sessions said: I never had meetings with Russian operatives or Russian intermediaries about the Trump campaign.
That assertion is contradicted by the accounts Kislyak provided to his superiors in Moscow, according to current and former U.S. officials.
Kislyak reported to his bosses that he discussed campaign-related matters, including policy issues important to Moscow, with Sessions during the 2016 presidential race.
The fact Kislyak is still alive tells me he told his boss the truth. The fact Sessions recused himself for lying is also telling.
he said they talked about it. Nothing about what Trump was giving up for all the Russian support. There is a big difference between talking and collusion.
I thought Sessions recused himself before the lie. or at least before it became public. also its probably just good ethics to remove himself from any investigation like Mueller that is deep sea fishing for hits.

How do you know? That's right you don't.
and how do you know they did? That's right you don't.
see, I can be snarky too. come back when you actually have something to contribute. hurry, I think CNN just aired another 3 hour special on Trumps favorite color and how it offensive, you should probably get a thread up before LG does.
Seriously. I mean everyone knows that if you question or criticize or especially investigate Trump that your Republican credentials are immediately revoked. No stepping out of line. You're either with us or against us!
Nope, not what Im saying. Im saying the upper echelons of both parties and the government in general are in the same party. The establishment party, they are on the same team and Muller is part of that team.
Mueller was the bag man in the uranium one scandal, hes supposed to be non partisan yet look at his staff hes hired for this witch hunt.
What's funny is that the whole thing started out as an investigation into Russian meddling in the election, which few to this day deny. Similar interference has since been demonstrated in multiple other countries during election cycles. It's part of Putin's KGB mind game to increase his influence globally. There wasn't much talk about collusion with the campaign until Trump started really pushing back on the possibility that Russia was meddling. It's simply gone downhill since then. The more he pushed back, the more digging was done.
Personally, I doubt there was any actual collusion. I do, however, believe that Russia was meddling in the election by pushing misinformation. Did they manipulate the voting? No evidence of that. Did they ultimately sway the outcome in any meaningful way? I actually doubt it. Clinton was just an awful enough candidate that Trump could beat her. Trump's fragile ego, however, cannot let that possibility exist, because it means that something other than his greatness could have influenced the outcome of the election. His narcissism continues to be his worst enemy.
I have very little doubt if he just kept off Twitter and generally kept his comments polite most of this would have blown over by now.
