TrumpPutingate III: the beginning of the end

So if Trump does the smart thing he should be impeached?

The first problem with your question is that you assume his motive is to so the smart thing. That does not seem to be the issue here with Trump, who reacts. He doesn't think.

Second, Trump says he wants to testify. If he doesn't, only the 36% will buy into the notion it's because of bias. The rest of us know it's because Trump is worried that Mueller has him dead to rights.

Ted Lieu @tedlieu - 1h

As a member of the House Judiciary Committee, I read the partisan, classified Nunes House Intel memo. I can't talk about it. However, here's an analogy.

Remember Geraldo Rivera and the infamous Mystery of Al Capone's Vaults? It's like that but Geraldo Rivera has more integrity.
***********************************

Of course, Lieu is very partisan as well... but as Chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, Nunes never gave their investigation a chance to be in any way bi-partisan. It's ridiculous how hard he has worked to undermine Mueller. This memo appears to be more bluster with nothing to show for it.

Awww snap! Beautiful analogy.

He seems to have painted himself into a corner. Who would have thunk it?
Obama and Hillary gave him the paint, the FBI and DOJ gave him the brush, and Mueller put him in the room, but he will hop out of the room unscathed because he didn't do anything wrong..

Ok... maybe 0.01%. ;-) I'm not sure if Trump supporters truly understand the depths of hatred of him by a huge percentage of the American public... it's off the charts.

Congress can impeach a President because he doesn't like peanut butter. Given Trumps whopping ~37% approval rating, that's already almost at the (inverse) Senate 66% requirement to impeach.

Put a fork in him.

Triple Pfft, ok, eyeroll, with crossed arms a dramatic sigh and a "Fine!"

Great impeach and remove him from office over nothing, one day a Dem will be POTUS again.

I would love a federal government which operates with perpetual impeachment. Soak up all their time and attention. Leaves the rest of us the hell alone.

I will say it is odd timing that McCabe went on his terminal leave the same day Wray saw the memo.

I just doubt we the public will see anything of substance. If the memo is legit there will be quite resignations, people not running for reelection and Muller slinking off into the sunset. I doubt there will be a mushroom cloud.

Funny that people like OBV think Trump is embarrassing us on the international stage. They remove Trump over nothing and we're now the banana republic.

I think that greatly depends.
