Did they? They did what every administration in the history of the nation has done. They tried to put the best face on the current situation. No one was stupid enough to think things were going great and the border was secure. I'm thinking you are not as :moderator" as you claim to be.

Since you don't seem very bright I'll give you some homework. List the 3 (or 5) most important functions of SECDEF. Then list what in his resume prepares him to perform those functions. I'll be waiting.

Blind optimism that he will be successful is not good for either side. But as stated previously - I pray to God Hegseth gets it right.. the future of our nation quite literally hangs in the balance.

You are correct, and that was the main intent of my post although I didn't say it well. I had meant to apply that to all those that belly up in high level politics. The main gist was to point out how people use the word "qualified" as of there is some sort of test they must pass. Even for president the only qualifications are being a natural citizen, being 35 years old and having a pulse although the pulse isn't written anywhere and Puddinhead has placed that into question. Elon Musk is every but as qualified to run the government as AOC was when she got elected. "Qualification" is a low bar. That's what I meant.

Agreed, but the biggest winners are the globalist war mongers, neocons, and contractors who are responsible for this entire mess, and are at it again in the Middle East. I have no regard for Putin, but if sane people are in charge in the U.S. this war never happens. My opinion based on a lot of reading, but I stand by it. Madness, indeed.

Completely wrong. I won't deny that watching leftists melt down is kind of fun, but Trump is showing that he learned from his dreadful mistakes of trusting deep state scum the first time, and is putting people in place that he can trust won't stab him in the back. We're having some fun, but the fact is that the country was imploding from within and help is finally here.

They actually used the words “the border is secure”. They could have said “we are working to make the border more secure”. But nope; they went with the definitive assertion with no room for argument

If 85 percent of your party truly felt that way; why did you all sit by and let it happen? If 85% of Republicans disapproved of a policy or candidate; do you think we would let it continue?
