Putting the country first would have been introducing the bill by itself and early in the term. It wasn't done until immigration chaos and close to an election

I believe the Gaetz nomination is directed at the DOJ and the FBI. Trump is rightly angry at the insiders who pursued him for political purposes. Remember they raided his home and violated its sanctity. They even went through his wife's underwear. He wants someone who will go after them. There will be no forgiving that. He will also tell Gaetz to go after Biden for stealing classified documents while VP. Biden deserves it. He won't get immunity.

Many of them, not all, but many would have pushed Jeb Bush all the way to a resounding defeat in the General Election in 2016. Many of these Rinos would have rather lost with Jeb Bush than won with Trump. Thankfully they are dying breed and Trump is bringing new supporters into the party everyday.
