Hard to imagine the Senate, as sycophantic as they are - confirming these picks, he will almost certainly have to adjourn the Senate and recess appoint them.

My wife has a few of those. For the most part they are harmless. One still wears a mask everytime she comes over. Even while sitting outside. One friend continues to buy my son pro-LGBT kids books. Usually some message about how you can dress and do as you want to with some old cartoon looking guy wearing a dress. I just throw them in the trash every year.

They’ve been pretty quiet this go around. They swore up and down Trump staged the 1st assassination attempt but we haven’t heard much from them since then.

That is not what he has stated. He said he would trust the findings from the tests. You are way too trusting. I think that we should question everything.

Gaetz is someone that the Biden DOJ investigated for said accusations, and where the Biden DOJ apparentlydecided there was insufficient evidence that a crime probably was committed and that Gaetz probably committed it.

There are lots of reason to dislike the Gaetz choice, but if federal prosecutors weren’t confident in probable cause, I don’t think that our knowing Gaetz was accused is, by itself, disqualifying.

The theme to the drum I keep beating today is simple: process matters. It seems strange to have to keep saying that, especially on a board with a bunch of lawyers.

I don’t know. There is a such a large civil component to federal law enforcement now. I think about things in the news like national Opioid settlements, Medicaid recoupment, whistle blower actions, etc. I don’t think one needs to be a prosecutor, but I do think a fulsome understanding of the practice of law would be helpful.

The role of AG is largely administrative management, not nuts-and-bolts lawyering. I don’t think one has to be an accomplished lawyer themselves, but I certainly think it helps.

I can’t find a record of accomplishment by Gaetz. That is my main opposition to his appointment. Perhaps he did lots behind the scenes as a lawyer in private practice. I hope that is what the confirmation hearing is about.
