Honest question - Can anyone educate me on why an AG would “sue” someone for breaking a law instead of “prosecuting” them? What exactly would be the punishment for the person being sued? I always associated “suing” someone was more of a civil suit for a monetary fine for wrong doing? TIA

Yes sir:

There is an old common law concept called a “writ of mandamus.” It is an action brought, essentially, to force a government official act in compliance with the law.

I don’t know anything about Bondi’s lawsuit, but I suspect it is rooted in trying to force subordinate government officials to follow federal law by an action similar to the old writ of mandamus.

(Cue the left outrage at “MAGA judges subverting the rights of the states to oppose imperial draconian Nazi. We will oppose this with everything we have.” Media applause and hours of coverage of “bravery.”])

Seems like you may be a bit jealous. RFK and Tulsi left the Democrat party just like you did. They got cabinet positions. All you got was a new Avi. Life’s not fair sometimes.

I like RFK. Glad he kicked his heroin addiction and is doing well

Still, a former heroin addict with no formal medical education or experience? Almost as unqualified as a major in the NG and talk show host as Defense Secretary. It's about loyalty to Trump as to qualifications. It's cool if that's what you want. It's a popcorn 🍿 outing for the most part
