Trump's problem with GOP Jews

Wasn't it house dems that accused her?

I'm talking about Republicans obsessing over her in general. You seem to be talking about something very specific. A quick Google search shows some dems got mad at her for comparing the US and Israel to the Taliban and Hamas. IDK what this has to do with what I'm saying.

Noted right-winger Nancy Pelosi called Omar antisemitic.....

And? Was what she said antisemitic? Literally, all she said was that Republicans support Israel because of where campaign donations come from. Omar apologized for her remark....because they're all playing politics.

It's because anti-zionism isn't antisemitism. They are taking a geopolitical position based on what's happening in part of the world. They're not taking a position against all Jewish people.

Lol, comedy. Bless your ignorant heart.

If Donald Trump said "Dems only support African Americans because of the votes" would that be racist?

No. Why would it be? He'd not be saying anything bad about black people. He'd be saying something bad about Dems.

What about this one?

Israel has hypnotized the world, may Allah awaken the people and help them see the evil doings of Israel.

Israel is a regime, not a people. Would you be racist for saying, China is a threat to peace? Of course not. Because there is a huge difference between talking about governments/states and demographic groups.

Eh. We have a whole thread devoted to that argument.

it seems many Jews do equate Zionism with Semitism, both in Israel and outside. Not all but a good number.

And there are plenty of different levels of Zionism.
1. An expanded israel free of all non Jews. In this case the non Jews are peacefully moved out, although some will argue its genocide the Jews really want.
2. An expanded Israel.
3. The original borders of Israel existing at all.

All of those have been qualified as Zionism.

It's a pretty tricky argument because Zionism boils down to the existence of Israel and one of the ways Jews identify their culture is the existence of Israel.

And a lot of Christains attribute Israel being wiped off the map as a sign of the end of the world, so that Zionism leaches over.

I don't think it really matters if some take it as antisemitic because it's not.

You'll find whites who think something is racist against whites when it's not.

You'll find gay people who think something is homophobic when it's not.

Jewish people don't get to say anti-zionism is antisemitism just because of how they view Israel. The thing is what it is, it's not what people sensitive to the subject say about it.

Israel was formed as a Jewish State. Nothing like your China example...

Except your last is exactly how "racism" gets used in this country. Someone thinks some comments offends someone in a somehow racist way, so its racist. Especially when it comes to politics and the public eye. Even if it isnt racist.

And maybe he has said more dumb stuff, but Ye's anti Jewish comment wasnt racist at all. Again, just the example of him saying Jews ran Hollywood or whatever it was, he may have made other anti Jewish comments.

Meeting with Fuentes was stupid. Trump should have vetted him . He won't be the nominee anyway.

I wasn't talking about anything specific. I just remember Jerry Nadler going after her.

I feel like we're off the rails here. My point was about what it is, not how it can be used politically. I'm saying people overreact with Omar and you're saying that's because people overreact in politics, but to me that is a separate conversation. People are wrong to overreact. Omar is a useful bogeyman because the panic she creates distracts from the things we should be united over, like runaway government.

Ehhh...saying "I'm going deathcon 3 on Jewish people" seems pretty anti-Jewish.
