TrumPutinGate

First of all, Trump has the power to disclose whatever he wants
Second of all, the Post didn't provide any evidence of anything. The only person mentioned in the report denied everything they reported.

No, he does not have the authority disclose the sources of our intelligence to foreign interests. If he leaked information that outs a protected asset he could be in violation of law.

That's a bit much. Let me give my take:

I don't think he was "sharing" IJ intel. I think he was running his mouth trying to push how great our alliance was with the country that released this info, then the people in the room realized what the **** he had done and notified CENTCOM, NATO, NSA, and CIA about the "leak.". he's within his legal rights to say whatever he wants, but the IC of the nation this info came from, if this checks out, will stop sharing with us.

Most likely story - the pivotal question is how much did he reveal. Original WaPo article made it sound very ominous. McMaster pushed back as have others that WaPo is overstating it.

We'll probably never know.

What we do know is the WH staff leaks like crazy

my limited understanding on this is that it would have to be a very specific circumstance and manner of leaking to be any kind of violation - IOW, hard to imagine there is a legal issue here.

How people interpret Trump's intentions is how serious they will judge his actions. You can view him as a neophyte who has never dealt with the handling of information before and simply ran his mouth more than he should... or there could be something worse. You seem to want to give him the benefit of the doubt as an incompetent with no experience. Maybe that's true.

If it's Israeli intelligence that got dumped that's going to be quite a conundrum.

I am of the very strong and personally measured opinion that he is not inherently evil, just insanely stupid.

The horrors of innocent until proven guilty.

You are suggesting that he intentionally disclosed this information as part of his larger, coordinated collusion with Russia?

With all the dumbass stuff he does regularly why would you not lean towards the neophyte rationale? You think he's crazy like a fox?

It seems so unlikely to me that it was intentional that I just think it pointless to ponder. I give it a 0.05 percent chance.

99.95 percent it was because he was bragging, wanted to look like a big shot, like he knew what he was talking about.

Which this, ironically, shows is absolutely not true.
