TrumPutinGate

Comey and Mueller both worked together at the DOJ for 12 years (Comey was the Assistant Attorney General and Mueller was Directer of the FBI) Together they are both known for staring down Bush and Cheney over an NSA intel program called STELLAR WIND. And Mueller does not have to recuse himself from the obstruction of justice investigation because he isn't doing the investigation. He has assigned a prosecutor to do that.

Same logic applies to Sessions RE: all things Russia. Sessions wasn't doing the investigation; he was the head of it (as is Mueller).

I'm not saying he has to recuse himself. I'm asking if he should given he has a personal (beyond work) relationship with Comey and it is Comey's firing that is the subject of possible obstruction.

It's a legit question.

Mueller has a special relationship with Comey. if anyone should be investigated for obstruction of justice its the meeting Lynch had with Comey regarding the Clinton investigation

No kidding.... Comey brought that up in testimony too.... where's the outrage ?

The very fact if they have a personal relationship beyond a business relationship are grounds for recusal

Mueller ordered the FBI to raid an empty building after Solyndra went belly up after getting $535 Million of stimulus. Why so late? Who told him to wait til after they got out? Where did that money go? Who went to jail over that?

Mueller knows.

The Deputy Attorney General knew of their relationship and appointed Mueller anyway.

They have opened a matter into the matter.

Sounds about right.... discussed their grandchildren..... yeah right.... they have s secret meeting on an airport tarmac to talk about their grandchildren? Not even loother believes this crock of crap

They were a little too close and that is why she had to recuse herself. I don't feel it came to obstruction.

You can see the groundwork being laid--Mueller hasn't even said a word publicly and he's being attacked by the Trumpists.

The talking points that the White House sent out their surrogates to Attack Mueller are a disaster. Going out of their way to attack Mueller's integrity will only remind people of what kind of integrity their boss has. I'm just waiting for them to call Mueller a coward. That would be the most ironic thing ever.

Money laundering.

I'm not saying its true but Mueller did add Justice Department trial attorney Lisa Page who specializes in investigating and prosecuting money laundering and Eastern European organized crime cases. Her most famous case is when she was part of the FBI's task force in Budapest, Hungary where she helped take down Ukrainian oligarch Dmitry Firtash one of Paul Manafort's buddies ironically.

It's an investigation, and this is the most fertile grounds of wrongdoing.

I think the most fertile ground will be the obstruction of justice investigation, which ironically wasn't s even started by Mueller. The obstruction of justice investigation started prior to May 17th the day Mueller was appointed.

No problem. Trump will order Rosenstein to fire Mueller. Rosenstein will refuse and resign. Trump will appoint a lackey to that post. Maybe Giuliani, who will fire Mueller.

Trump will get rid of two people not loyal to him. It's his wet dream.

Well, for two weeks in a row you guys had sure fire testimony that was gonna be the nail in the coffin. None of that Russian stuff worked out, and now it's money laundering? I guess every week is gonna be something different?
