Hard to say since Trump isn't the typical president.

But this isn't a typical investigation into public officials either. Much of the media and the left isn't acting like this is just an investigation. They're treating it like they've already decided he's guilty, and now they're just looking for something questionable to declare as proof.

Trump's personality would probably be hostile towards this no matter what, but the actions of the media/left aren't really helping. Too many people on both sides are acting like children.

Define "worked."

His domestic policy agenda is in the gutter, his approval ratings are in the toilet, world leaders are mocking him, the legislative branch is keeping him at arms length and it's just been announced that a special prosecutor is in fact investigating him personally.

If that's his version of working, I'd love to see what he looks like failing.

Most of what you describe isn't of his doing.

And world leaders mocking him? Hell most of the leaders mocking him are jokes themselves. Per my Ausie friends Turnbull is a disaster and they have 2 nationalist picking up quite a following.

Irrelevant.

Whatever the case, if his plan was to be crazy like a fox - he hasn't managed to do anything but look crazy. Now if that was his plan and not be remotely successful at fulfilling his campaign promises - I suppose one could argue that his plan is working.

The Senate Intelligence Committee met with Mueller. They have agreed to not launch an obstruction of justice probe and will leave that criminal issue to Mueller's office instead.They have agreed to turn over any facts or evidence pertaining to the obstruction of justice probe to the special counsel office.

I don't think he had a plan, just some lofty goals that didn't jive with the establishment power-brokers agenda. So they hafta tear him down to stop him.

He needs to STFU and stop tweeting.

They are proud of him when I think he's a doofus. Not sure how they feel about him here, but sanctions are bad policy, IMO. Sanctions will do nothing to modify Russia's behavior and they will probably make Putin more politically powerful.

The options are limited. Expel diplomats, sanctions, war. With Sanctions we can harm them financially but it will do nothing to the power structure under this dictatorship. What would you do?

If by more powerful you mean he will have to order the his police and national guard to beat the hell out of more protesters you are right.

I don't really have a good answer other than sometimes doing nothing is better than doing something dumb.

I am not even convinced the Russians tampered with our election, granted I have paid little attention to this story. The CIA can hack data centers and make it look like the Russians or the Chinese did it.

Which issue?

The collusion? I think we see evidence or at least people who've been doing the investigation indicating that evidence exists.

The obstruction? Directing people to lie, stopping the investigation into Flynn, pardoning him to stop it, etc.

As it stands it was a damn weak effort at obstruction if it was obstruction. That said, as I've said before if he goes down it will most likely be for perjury; next most likely is a broad interpretation of obstruction; least likely is collusion.
