Come on, you think the investigation just stopped when Comey was fired? All those agents just up and dropped what they were doing when the boss got canned? He was the ****ing Director so how much investigating do you think he was actually doing?

Congress dropped theirs because they were getting nowhere.

We'll see what comes of Muller's investigation but as VB alluded to, it will most likely be low hanging fruit and the charges will be unrelated. They have to charge someone for something to justify the investigation.

Trump is trying to have it both ways now... He wants to dismiss Russia's role in the meddling in the 2016 election but also wants to criticize Obama for not doing enough to stop it.

He also cited the "17 intelligence agencies" complaint as if that somehow means the conclusions of the 3 intelligence agencies (FBI, CIA and NSA) and approved by the office of the Director of National Intelligence is now discredited because of language used by the media. He simply does not want to believe that Russia meddled in the election... but why has he gone to such lengths to defend Putin and Russia while attacking the credibility of our intelligence community... and he is now doing this in front of an international stage? This is bizarre.

Rep. Devin Nunes (a former member of the Trump campaign) definitely did help to slow the House investigation. It's also clear that Trump did not want Jeff Sessions to recuse himself because he knew that would likely lead to an independent counsel being appointed. Trump has admitted that the firing of Comey was over the Russia investigation and it's also consistent with other things that have happened (most notably the Nunes farce).

If the Dims claim the Russians, the Russians, then why don't they release the DNC servers to a govt agency to investigate. I'm sure this whole Russian thing would get cleared up once and for all.

Comey being fired over the Russia investigation can mean any number of things but one that Comey even testified to was it wasn't an attempt to stop it. It was probably over Comey's incompetent and partisan way he was conducting it.

Jeez.... Our Intelligence community claims the Russians were responsible for meddling in the 2016 Presidential election and it is notable that not one single Republican member of Congress is on record disagreeing with that conclusion. This really isn't a partisan issue at this point. It is a Trump vs everyone else issue.

1. Comey testified his firing did not stop, slow or impeded the FBI investigation. LG was wrong.

2. The Congressional inquiries are still ongoing but LG claimed they had stopped. LG was wrong.

Not sure how what you posted changes either of those things.

Whether or not Trump has been successful in impeding the investigation is beside the point. He has definitely tried.

The NYT on June 28th made a correction noting "the assessment was made by four intelligence agencies - the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, the Central Intelligence Agency, the FBI and the National Security Agency". The Times bluntly concluded: "The assessment was not approved by all 17 organizers in the American intelligence community".
