I disagree.

What if it came to light that Facebook analytics knew what was going on or that there was something funny happening, and chose not to report to the federal government?

I honestly don't know; just spit-balling. I highly doubt anyone at Facebook ends up in prison, but I think there's plenty of room for an investigation of potential wrongdoing.
