TrumPutinGate

What does everything mean? His receipts from Lowes? His cable bill? Did he have cabbage in his fridge? Could that be the smoking gun for collusion?!?

at this point the investigation is all about finding evidence of any wrong doing. So if he forged a progress report in the 2nd grade I'm sure they will try to bust him for it

The guy may be a lot of things but I doubt he's an idiot. If there was something he didn't turn over or something incriminating he wouldn't keep it at his house.

And honestly, if Mueller is doing his job like he's supposed to, he would cross all the T's and dot the I's. And that means searching a private residence just in case.

Mouthbreathers sometimes can't understand that and think there is something hugely nefarious happening. Just think of what would happen if they went on someone's word alone. The DNC screeching would be even worse.

I'm not a judicial expert but evidently you're not either if you think a judge is going to issue a search warrant for the reason "just in case" I missed something.

Okay, combine the first post and second post on the matter.

Probable Cause + Dotted I's and such = thorough job

Having the FBI knocking at his door before daylight with a warrant may indicate that he is an idiot.

You know why they do that don't you? It's pretty much standard procedure to reduce the chances the subject is warned.

What I do know is that Manafort met with Senate committee on July 25th. Before the sun rose again the FBI were searching his house.

The rest is speculation.

It's possible he said something to the committee that didn't match up with what the FBI already knew. They may have had him under surveillance and even had his house bugged. Also it's not clear that he was living at the house they raided and they may have wanted to search it before he could get to it.

I told LG once, you guys better hope Muller comes up with something concrete against Trump or his guys tying them to the collusion theory or clears them. If Muller ends up charging people on unrelated stuff the witch hunt will be proved.

Mueller will find what he finds. If it's enough to warrant Trump leaving office, so be it. I can guarantee you that whatever he finds will be more relevant and more closely related to the initial investigation than cigars and Lewinski were to Whitewater.

I agree that Starr's investigation got out of hand.

However, if you are advocating using the judiciary for political payback you are going to end up sorry at some point.

I don't advocate using the judiciary for payback for the injustices done to Clinton, even though these injustices were done to the joy of the right wing. I remember no republican calling for Starr to scale back his investigation to more closely align to the original intent; quite the opposite, republicans where out to pin something on Clinton by any means necessary. What we have seen from Mueller to date does not come even remotely close to the witch hunt done by Starr with the full support of the republican party.

According to Rod Rosenstein Mueller has the authority to look into any crimes that may arise from his investigation.

"The Special Counsel has authority to investigate any links and/or coordination between the Russian government and individuals associated" with Trump's campaign, but also to examine any matters that arose or may arise directly from the investigation."

Now whether he presents evidence of other crimes to the Grand Jury I don't know (I suspect he will). But I'm sure at the very least they will be referred to the AG or the US Attorney who has jurisdiction.

No injustices were done to Clinton. He didn't have to lie to a grand jury.
