TrumPutinGate

As I have said now many times, the reason this is taking this long is that Mueller knows just how incredibly upsetting and startling the truth is going to be to Trump's base. He is not going to conclude and issue a report until the collected evidence is going to be overwhelming, and we can avoid any sort of serious threat from either Trump trying to stay in office, or his base refusing to listen to reason if it comes down to having to remove him from office.

Never going to happen.

All evidence is pointing to obama/clinton administrations corruption with the Russians

Maybe when Mueller announces his findings, he will say “extremely careless”.

The last four or five posts are emblematic of why Mueller's proof must be unassailable. You guys are going to need a bunch of smoking guns and enough evidence that somehow it causes you to awaken from the trance that Trump has put you under.

What’s your prediction of dirty cop Muellers findings? Do you think it’s much worse than Hillary’s ?

It will not matter if Trump was on tape discussing collusion with Putin. Trump's supporters will never consider anything that comes from the investigation unless it is exoneration. The brain-washing was completed long ago.

They will turn a blind eye to treason before they abandon Dear Leader.

I agree.
There’s no way this ends well for Muller or the Democrats. There just won’t be any real proof of anything shocking enough to cause Trump any real problems.

Do you think the problem is the media has given Presidents a pass on bad behavior for the last 30 years so that the accepted standard of behaviors is in the gutter?

That reads as though your logic is:

(1) Nothing is proven, and must still be proven.
(2) If it is proven, it must be proven for ya'll to believe it.
(3) You guys are in a trance because you don't believe (what I just admitted isn't proven).

It’s not just his supporters. The swing voters who could go either way have been desensitized to the point that their reaction will be “Meh”

Any prosecution or impeachment should require unassailable proof. When has the beyond a reasonable doubt standard changed?

We teeter on the edge of autocracy because of this type of thinking. And that is true no matter what party is in the White House.

The only way to avoid this is to severely limit Presidential power. The Office has grown far too powerful since FDR.

My thinking on this has somewhat changed given the direction we've seen undertaken the last few months. I doubt (but do not yet completely discount) the theory that there was a quid pro quo agreement whereby Trump was approached and agreed to go easy on Russia in exchange for their help in the election.

Rather, I think the more likely explanation for all of this is that they had their hooks in him very deep financially. Given his well known financial problems over the years, his prior ties to Russian oligarchs and financing, I think that Trump turned out simply to be the right guy for them in the right place at the right time.

What we are going to find out is that Trump has decades worth of shady dealings with them, and owes them a ton. So when he won the nomination, the Russians pounced on the opportunity both to play games with our electoral system, and also to take a shot at Trump winning, knowing that if he did he would have to play ball with them.

Trump knows full well that there won't be any signs of explicit collusion and communication of such in the campaign. But he also knows that a thorough examination of his finances will reveal that the Russians literally own him lock, stock, and barrel.

This I am in 100% agreement. I'll also say the same for the judicial branch.

I mostly agree with this.
I’ve often thought we’d be better off as a country if we as citizens didn’t get a vote for president. We should elect senators, congressmen and Governors. Govoners should elect the president.

More of a representative republic and less of a democracy.

But that’s not realistic

I honestly think Russia was playing both sides.
The same way we do other countries

So you're saying that Trump falsified his financial disclosures? Well ****! That shouldn't take more than a couple months to figure out.
