.......... or the NYT is trying to save its collusion story they have been pushing for months. The Trump administration and it's minions on Fox and in the House have tried to sell the notion that the Russia investigation by the DOJ began because of the dossier. Why do they promote that storyline? Because they can link that back to people with connections, albeit indirect, to Clinton. This gives them political cover to try to generally criticize the whole thing, therefore, as stemming from the Dems.
Turns out, this theory is utter bullsh!t. The investigation began when the Australian intelligence services alerted us to the coffee boy Papadapoulos bragging to one of their agents about the Russians having dirt on Clinton via emails. Emails that then began appearing publicly about a month later.
How the Russia Inquiry Began: A Campaign Aide, Drinks and Talk of Political Dirt - The New York Times
This is critical for two reasons. One, he was the among the first dominoes to fall. They went right after him. He will now have to explain THE CRITICAL POINT.
How did he know the Russians had that info a month before it came out????
The end is near, Trump nut huggers. Trump is toast.
If this was indeed what set the wheels of the investigation into motion, why is Mueller busy chasing around unpaid tax dollars? Why hasn't he gone after GP with a vengeance? And why wasn't this info leaked much earlier? Everything else in this "investigation" gets leaked but the smoking gun that started it is just coming to light.
Nah, this is to keep the TrumPutin kooks from losing interest.

They have been very careful about what is disclosed so as to maintain the integrity of the investigation. First, they released the short statement on subpoenaing emails when Fox got its panties in a wad after Trump cried whaaaaa about that.
Now that Trump is pushing the idea that the whole thing began with the dossier, it is being made public that it began with coffee boy bragging to the Australians about wiki leaks A MONTH BEFORE IT HAPPENED.
As I've said before, Mueller knows that the hard core Trumpians will need to see overwhelming evidence to even begin to accept what is increasingly looking to be inevitable -- Trump will be forced out of office.
You have him nailed to the wall this time. Finally...............................you've really got him now. People like LG and Luther want it too bad.Sometimes for fun I'll read through Louise Mensch's twitter posts and the associated comments.
It's pretty damned comical and takes me back to the days of VolProf and Velo.
The mania there also makes it easier for me to understand how an antitrump zealot may get swept up into the hysteria and be trsnsformed into a TrumPutin kook who loses the capacity of normal reasoning.

I want the truth to come out and for there to be consequences if there was collusion of if there has been criminal activity by Trump in his finances that exposes him to blackmail or a need to favor the Russians. I don't think there is anything wrong with wanting to know the truth about that.
And it is disturbing that so many people here are okay with it, and are ok with Trump trying to keep us from learning the truth about it.
Now, if at the end, they exonerate Trump that's fine, too. I doubt it will happen, but okay with me. And if so I'll still consider him a childish, uninformed, narcissistic bully and hope he loses in '20.
So it's a question of timing really.
I watched the whole Watergate thing unfold every day on TV. Because of that, I will never root for the removal of a President, no matter how much I dislike him or her. It's not good for the country. I will never root for the appointment of a special prosecutor either.72 is correct. You want it REAL bad. You've already shown your hand.

Here is the list:
President Trumps Lies, the Definitive List - The New York Times
Some nuggets from the first few day in office:AN. 21 A reporter for Time magazine and I have been on their cover 14 or 15 times. I think we have the all-time record in the history of Time magazine. (Trump was on the cover 11 times and Nixon appeared 55 times.) JAN. 23 Between 3 million and 5 million illegal votes caused me to lose the popular vote. (There's no evidence of illegal voting.) JAN. 25 Now, the audience was the biggest ever. But this crowd was massive. Look how far back it goes. This crowd was massive. (Official aerial photos show Obama's 2009 inauguration was much more heavily attended.)
