TrumPutinGate

In May 2016, then-Trump campaign adviser George Papadopoulos told Australia's top diplomat in Britain at a London bar that Russia had political dirt on rival Hillary Clinton, according to a report published Saturday in The New York Times.

Two months after Papadopoulos' conversation with Alexander Downer, when emails from the Democratic National Committee (DNC) emails emerged online, Australian officials passed the information concerning Papadopoulos to their American counterparts, the Times reports, citing four current and former American and foreign officials with direct knowledge of the Australians' role. It was that information, the Times reports, that was a factor in the beginning of the FBI's investigation of Russian election meddling and any ties to Trump associates.

I think when it's all said and done, it will be shown that Trumps campaign members colluded with Russians/Wikileaks to disseminate emails stolen from the DNC. However. Trump probably insulated himself with enough plausible deniability to escape charges.

Trump has demonstrated that he is a win at any cost kind of guy. Using the Russian stolen emails fits snugly with all the evidence presented to date.

I suspect even if this is proven true, many pro trump folks wouldn't care. Sad.

Everything went through Kushner and Jr. verbally like most crime bosses they don't leave a paper trail. Mueller will probably get most on conspiracy charges and they will tie Trump to money laundering. But like you said the pro Trump folks won't care.

For Flynn, conspiring with a foreign national to hand over a prisoner for financial gain for starters. Conspiracy can cover a broad range of activities but we know you really don't care. Your questions are always hollow.

I was looking for what law covers the alleged conspiracy. Specifically what laws were broken?

That is why I'm following the investigation. The essence of conspiracy is an agreement of two or more persons to engage in some form of prohibited conduct. The crime is complete upon agreement, although some statutes require prosecutors to show that at least one of the conspirators has taken some concrete step or committed some overt act in furtherance of the scheme. There are dozens of federal conspiracy statutes. One, 18 U.S.C. 371, outlaws conspiracy to commit some other federal crime.

The prohibited conduct would be working with a foreign nationalist to influence an election. I'm not a lawyer but I'm sure one has answered that question for you.

When this controversy first began, the test for the right was simply that there had been no collusion, at all. Now it has morphed into well, there was collusion, but that is not illegal.

When it is proven, and the allegation is made that it is illegal, there will be a new mantra. It will be that, well, it's illegal, but the president is allowed to do illegal things like this.

Umm, no. There has been zero proof of collusion.

Just because you pray to Allah for just that, doesn't mean it's going to happen.
