If there was nothing wrong with Flynn's contacts with Russians then why did Flynn lie about them?

Why did the FBI trick him into talking without an attorney or tell him the consequences of their interview? They want to entrap whoever they can and rules and laws be damned.

Whaaaa! The FBI would use trickery to get the truth. What kind of le agency does that?

Oh yeah, all of them.

Flynn was the Director of DIA. How much hand-holding does he need?

Why would the director of the FBI have to break protocol? His current mental state and reflection of ineptness explains much but it doesn’t excuse him for trying to entrap a member of the White House.

The FBI didn’t trick him. He lied to them and then they used NSA signals intelligence intercepts from Kislyak conversations against him.

Did you read the highlighted part of your post?

He said he didn’t remember something he said so they Read it to him exactly as he said it but he still said he didn’t remember saying it.
So because he still didn’t remember makes him a liar?

Yes. If NSA intercepts a conversation you have with a target and you lie about that conversation to a federal law enforcement officer it’s a crime.

So if he doesn’t remember even after they say “are you sure you didn’t say x” that is a lie to you?

It's hard to imagine a national security advisor, someone trained in the area and aware of the efforts of the Russians generally to turn anyone they talk to would not remember his conversations vividly.

As in, impossible to believe he forgot what was said.

And then to be sure to register the events for posterity they could say... write personal memos so as to retain the knowledge too!
