WOW! Not surprising he's leaving Kentucky but I wouldn't have guessed Minnesota! Great hire for the Gophers. From what I'm hearing Tubby was told to fire his assistants Monday and told UK he wouldn't do it.

Tubby Smith is going to Minnesota, just reported on the Sports Animal by Dave Nathan. He is saying Andy Katz just came with the News!!

Well...I don't think anybody saw this coming...if it was going to be another college stop for Tubby, I would have guessed Michigan...I think this is a pretty good hire for Minnesota though.

Now the real fun begins with the Kentucky coaching search.

I heard that. It's simply unbelievable that the fans were that hard on him to make him go somewhere else. I wonder how many of the players leave. I heard that if Tubby left Meeks was leaving also.

That is crazy it will be fun to see who Kentucky gets but I was really hoping Tubby would stay because we would own them with him there.

Meeks could leave...and I'm sure Morris is gone also...whoever takes over at Kentucky is getting an NIT team next year.

A better coach than Minnesota could have ever dreamed of hiring. Kentucky is about to learn a harsh lesson.

Wow. Can't say I blame him for getting out of Lexington.

I just hope the lesson isn't similar to the one Alabama learned...money can do amazing things and we all know Lexington has plenty of it...

Yeah the rumor was that Kruger had spoken with a major program but turned them down since his team is still playing in the tournament

The question in my mind is, was Tubby forced out? Was he told effectively if he didn't leave he would be terminated?

Why make the move to Minnesota. Does remind of the move a Alabama coach made to go to Kentucky, a job he was later fired from. I hope this doesn't backfire on Tubby.
