From the rumors I hear Tubby was told by UK on Monday to fire his assistants. Tubby refused.

The past week has now opened up three major coaching jobs with Kentucky, Michigan and Iowa. That's not counting the other jobs that open up as these schools hire big named coaches. Who's next after these openings....Memphis, Florida, Southern Illinois, UNLV?

I HIGHLY doubt Pitino goes back to UK, why would he want too? Louisville has a brighter future than UK does right now plus they are getting a very nice new arena in a few years.

I don't think Pitino would have an interest in Kentucky...I'm just curious if Kentucky would have an interest in Pitino.

No way in the world, not after leaving UK for Boston and then coming back to Kentucky and coaching at Luhvul.

We Kentucky people hold grudges for a long time.

i was afraid of this. with smith out i'm afraid they may make a run at pearl. regardless they are going to get better. tubby smith was a terrible judge of talent.

This could be the wildest offseason for college coaches in history...3 big time openings already and you can be assure there will be more....no one is safe..lol

I am really getting sick of hearing about Pearl leaving! He isn't going anywhere especially Kentucky

This is a great hire for Minny. They're not knowen for going after big time coaches. This will re-energize thier fan base and bring excitement back to Gopher Nation.

I just was lurking on some UK boards and the three names that keep poping up are

1.Billy Donnavan
2.Bill Self
3.Billy Gillispie
