Toobin returned to the network, where he serves as chief legal analyst, on June 10, after having been put on leave in response to news that he had masturbated on-camera during an October New Yorker video call. Toobin made his return in an interview with Newsroom anchor Alisyn Camerota, who quoted Jay Leno to ask the question on all of our minds: “What the hell were you thinking?” “Well obviously, I wasn’t thinking very well, or very much,” Toobin answered. The journalist went on to repeat the claim he gave in response to the initial news — that he’d thought his camera was turned off — while qualifying it with “That’s not a defense. It shouldn't be ok to have a bend from either side, but we've dumbed ourselves down to the point that we only listen if it's what we want to hear.

The news should be someone literally sitting there reading stories about what happened. Everything else should be classified as entertainment. Fox and MSNBC are to news what wrestling is to sports.

You are drawing a false equivalency.

Tucker Carlson is not a journalist. He is a political pundit. Whether he was working for CNN, MSNBC or Fox News, he has never been an anchor or news reporter. Carlson is just a talking head, expressing his opinions. Therein lies the problem.

This story concerning Tucker Carlson has nothing to do with false reporting. It has to do with Tucker Carlson being exposed as a two-faced fraud. The opinions, concerning the legitimacy of the 2020 Presidential Election, which Carlson expressed on his Fox News show were not genuine. Carlson manipulated his audience by telling Fox viewers what he thought they wanted to hear, rather than what he truly believed himself. He has also essentially acknowledged in private text messages, that this was done in order to keep his ratings up, which he clearly values more than he does his own integrity.

The problem here isn't with the right-wing viewpoint of Fox News.

The problem is that during the discovery phase of Dominion's defamation law suit, it has been revealed that the opinions concerning the legitimacy of the 2020 Presidential Election, which have been expressed on the Fox News prime time shows for the last two years are disingenuous.

Tucker Carlson, Sean Hannity and Laura Ingraham have often expressed trust in the unsubstantiated theories of Sidney Powell and Rudy Guiliani while on the air ... but then they ridicule Powell and Guiliani in private text messages to one another. It is manipulative and disingenuous. They are willing to say anything on the air that they think the Fox News viewership wants to hear, including allegations which they don't actually believe. Tucker Carlson, Sean Hannity and Laura Ingraham have been shown to be nothing but Nielsen rating's whores.

Report: McCarthy Grants Tucker Carlson Access to 41,000 Hours of January 6 Video

Fox News host Tucker Carlson reportedly has access to tens of thousands of hours of footage from the January 6, 2021, Capitol riot, thanks to House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA).

Sources informed Axios co-founder Mike Allen that Carlson’s team was in Washington, DC, last week going through some of the footage, and it will begin to roll out on Carlson’s programs in the forthcoming weeks.

The two sides have been communicating on the matter since earlier this month, Allen noted, citing correspondence he has seen. Additionally, the cache reportedly totals a whopping 41,000 hours of footage rather than the 14,000 hours previously reported.

“[T]here was never any legitimate reason for this footage to remain secret,” Carlson told Axios.
