I thought they’d take a hit from O’Reilly and Beck leaving but those guys just became fairly obscure. As long as they find somebody who can keep making their viewers feel self-righteous annd angry, they’ll only lose the fringe that was really dedicated to Carlson.

The fringe drove/drives their ratings though. Tucker had by far the highest-rated show on that channel.

It's amazing to me how many people still watch that stuff on a nightly basis. Not just Tucker - his opposite numbers on the left too. Isn't life too short to sit there and just get wound up?

His ratings are too high for it to be for any other reason than the text messages which were publicly revealed during the discovery phase of Dominion's law suit. I think the text which hurt him the most was the one where he was calling for a Fox News reporter to be fired, just because she fact-checked one of Donald Trump's election fraud claims on Twitter. I think that angered the journalists (Bret Baier, Neil Cavuto and Howard Kurtz) on Fox News ... A LOT!
