Tucker Carlson Obsession Thread (merged)

She read it, it’s misleading data and she’s the face of the network with her name on the show that audiences chose to see. Much like Tucker reading a teleprompter nightly, she does the same…can’t pick and choose. But again, she didn’t publicly apologize or you would have provided that, instead she misled her audience to get vaccinated. Hope none of them died or had loved ones die believing they were not going to get the virus based on her segment.
She trusted the assessment of the CDC's Director ... which was a reasonable thing to do. She announced the correction, once it was made.

Announcing the correction is different than saying “I misled my audience”. That’s called passing blame and not doing their own research. She promoted fear, still does. And her audience is supposed to trust her.

Good grief.

It was not Rachel Maddow's assessment. Maddow was just quoting what the Director of the CDC, Dr. Rochelle Walensky, had directly told her, while she was a guest on Maddow's show.

That is not a lie.

A lie involves an intent to deceive. Maddow was given misinformation from someone that she considered trustworthy on the topic at hand. Once a correction was made, Maddow corrected the record on her show.
Rachel did not bother to look into both sides of the vaccine arguments. As mentioned by others, she is smug as hell and was towing the party line put out by the government that the vaccine will prevent the disease and stop the spread...it did neither.

I admit I have watched very little of her show and when I do, I can hardly stand more than 5-10 minutes of it because it is so obvious how wrong she is about almost everything or is asserting as facts things that are not confirmed or factual to begin with.

Did she ever issue a retraction or apology about her story on Oklahoma hospitals being overrun with patients taking ivermectin?

could be because working class people who watch the news at night….are at work during the day. Not sure that’s extreme.
Normal working class people come home and watch the local 6 o'clock news if they want to watch news (most people do not)

Or go to the gym, kids/grandkids games, eat dinner/make dinner too many other things to do after work. Not sure you can say “normal working class people” and assume everyone watches local news without acknowledging events after work that may occupy someone’s time.

I can easily believe that you don't watch her show.

As for this line in bold? That is exactly how Fox News approached their coverage of post-election fraud claims made by Donald Trump.

Which news personalities have apologized the Covid propaganda? Which news outlets have apologized for the Russia hoax, the Steele dossier? What about being complicit with covering up thr Biden laptop? What about covering up for the government's attempt to pressure social media into suppressing the Biden laptop? What about the personalities that dismissed the Biden diary?

Who would have been a better authority than the CDC Director?

There was no deliberate attempt on her part to mislead anyone. She wouldn't have corrected the record, if she didn't care about the facts.

Has Fox News apologized for the lies Sidney Powell told about Dominion on their shows? No, they haven't.

simpler answer would have been, she hasn’t publicly apologized for misleading her audience. It was a yes/no type of question. Not a blame or deflect.

COVID vaccine: Dr. Walensky comments walked back by CDC | kgw.com

That claim was made on Rachel Maddow's show in April of 2021, by the CDC Director, Dr. Rochelle Walensky. The CDC issued a correction later, and Rachel Maddow did mention the correction on her show. Yes, it was misinformation, but it wasn't something that Rachel Maddow just made up on her own out of thin air. She did correct the record following the CDC's reversal of Dr. Walensky's claim.
How about when she herself said that Russians were going to murder Americans in 2017 by turning the heat off during the winter? How about when she claimed that Republicans hacked Anthony Weiner’s phone and uploaded all of his d*ck pics? She’s no different than any other prime time news host. Lob out a bunch a stupid sh*t to drive up your ratings which in turn makes you more money.

That's rich coming from you. LOL

She didn't mislead her audience. She reasonably trusted the assessment of the CDC Director, and corrected the record once the CDC did.

Not rich, just stating in all these deflections you’ve blamed everyone except Maddow. She misled her audience, which is what you chastise Tucker/Fox News for.

You do quite a bit of deflecting yourself.

Maddow had a guest on her show, who had the credentials for being considered an expert in the field of infectious disease prevention and control. The guest provided misinformation. When it was corrected, Maddow announced the correction.

That's the last I'm going to comment on this. I've made my feelings clear. If you disagree? That doesn't bother me.

Would have been easier to say she misled/lied from the start instead of blaming others. I just asked for where she retracted and apologized , you failed. It’s not a disagree, you couldn’t do it.

I don't see it as being that black and white.

She wasn't "misleading her audience," and there was nothing for her to apologize for. When the CDC corrected their director's assessment, Maddow announced the correction on her show. That was her only obligation. The mistake wasn't hers.

There is no way that you hold the hosts of Fox News up to this same standard. LOL.
