I saw CDB in Knoxville in summer of '79. I remember he had some "reflections?" type name for the tour and sang about Van Zant in one of the songs. Also mentioned Janis Joplin in the same song. I remember the opening act was a band from New Orleans but cant remember their name.

Those women...AOC, Omar, this new moron calling for tearing down statues of George freaking Washington...these women are an EMBARRASSMENT to the station they currently hold, the people and states they represent, and the US of A.

Absolutely disgusting. I hope so very much that conservatives get out to vote like never, ever before after all of this Orwellian insanity that has transpired in 2020. If we do not...if we allow the weak minded, deluded Communists to carry the day....this country will be destroyed. It will be gone.

I was talking to a friend the other day: SURELY every single conservative will rally, get off his or her ass, and vote come November. Liberals/Democrats? How are minorities going to be enthused by Joe Biden? How do Bernie Bros feel about getting pushed out by an old career-politician who has done nothing but spin his wheels and waste money for decades?

It really should be a landslide.

I’m trying to locate a segment (maybe it was from Tucker? Maybe somewhere else on the internet) about the Scots Irish impact on the outcome of the American revolution. Talked about how many from the hinterlands were kind of detached from the politics but they deeply valued freedom and loved a good fight. Not necessarily in that order. So they came out en masse to fight and were critical in winning the war. One of them was from Waxhaw NC a rough place at the time and he was 14 years old. His older brothers were killed and he went on to become President. It was Andrew Jackson. Has anyone seen a clip like that recently? I think I saw that just in relation to the monument vandalism and July 4th holiday

The New York Times on Wednesday took issue with Fox News’s Tucker Carlson over his criticisms of far-left lawmakers, accusing him of unleashing “nativist smears.” The attempted lecture comes as the Times continues to employ several individuals — from editors to fact-checkers — who have made waves with racist utterances of their own.

The Times took specific issue with Carlson’s recent critiques of Sen. Tammy Duckworth (D-IL) after the conservative firebrand suggested that she and many of those within her caucus “actually hate America.” He renewed those criticisms on Tuesday night.

“There are many of us here who do like this country,” Carlson said, emphasizing that “we live here.”

“We don’t want to destroy it. We have every right to fight to preserve our nation and our heritage and our culture,” he said.

“And when vandals like Tammy Duckworth and Ilhan Omar tell us that we’re not allowed to question their patriotism, even as they scream about how horrible America is, we have every right to laugh in their faces, and we should,” Carlson added.

The Times described Carlson’s defense of American patriotism as “nativist attacks on Democratic women of color,” contending that the “attacks” are “hardly new” for Carlson and President Trump.
