Tucker Carlson Obsession Thread (merged)

Anybody want to walk me through why a "racist" writer for TC is the end of him and a reason for liberals to victory dance but the racist hired by the NYT editorial board is a nothing burger?
That was my initial thought as well.

I do find it rather interesting that we hear about how much of a surge progressives in particular and liberals in general are making on public opinion and perception while clearly population viewing trends don’t support that narrative. Fox alone lays all the other MSM sources to waste. It’s pretty amazing.

And before somebody plays “but TV is for old people and social media is where the young people get their information” there is also a very clear voting representation when it comes to age breakdown.

The continual domination of Fox News just kinda has me laughing on any narrative put forth by our local libs on how well they are doing 😂

Echo, echo, echo

From the editor of the NYtime who just resigned:

Twitter is not on the masthead of The New York Times. But Twitter has become its ultimate editor. As the ethics and mores of that platform have become those of the paper, the paper itself has increasingly become a kind of performance space. Stories are chosen and told in a way to satisfy the narrowest of audiences, rather than to allow a curious public to read about the world and then draw their own conclusions. I was always taught that journalists were charged with writing the first rough draft of history. Now, history itself is one more ephemeral thing molded to fit the needs of a predetermined narrative.

So Tammy D is full of it?

Bari’s piece is great, and it points out flaws in the NYT Opinion forum. I don’t think it diminishes Senator Duckworth’s opinion, though.

Similarly, I don’t think the worth of Senator Cotton’s piece was determined by its appearance there.

I mean hell Joy Reid has a ton of anti Semitic and homophobic tweets yet she still keeps getting promoted at MSNBC.

Shame on us for our whataboutisms.

We need to accept different standards for different people...but not in a racist way...unless it is against whites...but not white liberals...but sorta ok against white liberal men more than white liberal women...but limited to only genetic females but also anyone who identifies as female.

There's a lot of complexity to it you and I need to learn.

I mean seriously, if you wanted to let a liberal humiliate themself, you couldn’t do any better than what you just did.

I'm not a liberal. I linked to Tammy Duckworth's NYT Op Ed because those were her own words.

It is clearly evident that you are among those who self-identify as "conservative" and look for opportunities to decry and defame any who you perceive as failing to march lockstep with your dogma. For your information, "themself" is not a word. You're trying to patch the plural "them" to the singular "self." Odd that you attempt to use (coin?) a gender neutral pronoun. From what I've witnessed, Tucker Carlson uses "him" and "her" without much forethought.

The errant assumption in your reasoning is that you think a lot of people are watching any of those channels. Even your bulwark Fox is hitting just 3.6 million viewers during prime time. That's one percent of the population and its a static group. So, what, during the entire year maybe a total of 8 million unique viewers for any extended period?

Congrats. About 3 percent of the population watches Fox in prime time over the course of the year.

Thanks for confirming the premise I put forth. Seriously 😂

It's really not that amazing. It's a very simple and mostly insignificant explanation. MSNBC and CNN combine for similar ratings to what Fox News is getting. The reds aren't split between channels, so of course Fox News' ratings are significantly higher. Combine the two liberal competitors and it's close enough that factors like age of the audience can easily explain the difference.

Even more simple than that , the kids aren’t watching the lefts media and the ones with brains figured out that they lie constantly.

Maybe. If you add up ALL of the other networks they compare to Fox. If anything that solidifies Fox’s dominance plus why wouldn’t anybody challenge their stance? This isn’t a new position for Fox they’ve dominated for quite a while. I guess I need to go look at the growth of new outlets like OAN. If they’re growing at a rapid pace (and I think they are growing at least) while CNN and MSNBC are just maintaining or more likely shrinking) it still fits that all of the left leaning MSM outlets are falling out of favor.

Thank you for that compliment. It's one of the nicest things anyone has said to me on this board.

Are you saying that concepts like racism, wokeness, faux outrage, incessant screeching, and perpetual victimhood can only be experienced by lefty pu**ies?

How many sitting senators use the NTTimes to battle with a news talk show host? And we're critical of Trump's tweeting.

I'm assuming you actually read or listened to Carlson's comments about this?
She basically is saying she is above reproach because of her service and injury. So, that's not how it works. Being a combat veteran doesn't make you right.
He invited her to debate and basically said she woulnd't unless Carlson admitted she was right. Convenient. Cowardly.
Duckworth is scum.

No one said that you could predict the outcome of an election by the number of people who watch Fox versus MSNBC or CNN. But I have noticed that GOPers waive around Fox ratings relative to other stations as far more than just who has the hottest women on tv, or who has the catchiest sets. There seems to be some claim there that Fox ratings being higher is somehow a reflection of sentiment in conservatives' direction and that is just not a viable conclusion.
