However, you can't really feasibly deny that Real Time's standards are way different than Fox's.
If you get caught smoking in the bathroom at charm school vs. the same crime at an inner city public school... your consequences will differ.
In reality, that is probably correct. I can't remember the last time I have actually sat down and watched an opening monologue, much less and entire show. It may have very well been in the mid-90's.

Bill Maher is a vulgar, offensive prick on his show. He can get away with a lot more than Tucker, who wears a bow tie and hosts a cable news show on a conservative news network.
How can you not see the stark difference? Also, Carlson's sound bites are worse than just about anything Maher has ever said.
